Need for Speed Heat is a 2019 open-world racing game where players compete in races to build their reputation and earn money in the fictional Palm City. The game features a unique day and night dynamic, with different activities during each time of day:
Daytime
Players compete in sanctioned Speedhunter Showdown events, which include racing, drifting, and off-roading, to earn Bank to customize their cars. Players can also try to anger the police patrolling the city during the day.
Nighttime
Players can enter illegal street races with their crew, but must be ready for a rogue task force of police who are also out after them. Players can increase their reputation by taking chances and burning their competitors.
