Gamestop and mistreatment of their employees go together like peanut butter and jelly...except the peanut butter in this instance gives you super aids.

I was an overnight stocker at Wal-Mart, I had been there almost 7 years by this point. One night, I was pulled up in front of my coworkers by the overnight manager and was told that people like myself aren't immune to being fired and that I could be fired at any time. I had done nothing wrong other than show up and do my dead-end job of stocking grocery freight night after night. I immediately started looking for another job. That was 17 years ago, and I haven't forgotten.

I used to work in a factory that built roofing trusses. The day that I decided to quit was the day that I considered putting a nail gun to my leg and pulling the trigger. The reason that hit me like it did was my first week there, a guy shot himself in the foot with one just to get a few days off. At that time I couldn't wrap my head around it. 3 years later, I was the one considering it from the daily hell of that job. Hard physical labor in the worst climate(basically outside summer/winter), and terrible management. I still hate that place, a decade later
  • I resigned from a job that lied to me and hird me without saying they were a temp service, lied to me about pay, and lied to be about the hours I would get.

Bad News for Gamestop, Cody. The new Federal Minimum Wage just went up. To $12.45 an hour, starting this year.

Spent 11 years in the military and I can count on one hand how many times I had to yell at someone it was always related to safety and making a correction to keep people safe in the moment.

I was shot in the neck and the Marines didn't need me anymore lol

Why did I leave Target? Well I could write a 5 paragraph essay explaining exactly why but i'll keep it short. Long story short they wrote up the truck unloading team, for unloading the truck too slow. The only reason it took us so long is we had to spend the first hour and change, finding carts and stocking shelves. The night crew didn't do it. So when they said you have to be done by this time for a truck this size; I said "yeah under ideal circumstances, which we haven't had since i started." My Team lead was like "do you have any suggestions" as he pushed the paper towards me. I said "several", ripped up the write up, "Too bad you didn't listen to me" and left, I haven't been back to that store since.

With every Camelot upload we get one step closer to the final demise of Gamestop..

Working at McDonalds as Department Manager. Had to work two overnights, both truck delivery, after returning early from gall bladder surgery. Not supposed to lift more than a gallon. They left me with no one to unload the truck both nights. Luckily my son worked for the same franchiser and I could have him come help me unload the trucks. So on my dollar I had to uber my son to the job site. When the manager came in the morning because things were only brought in to the cold storage and not organized (all my son could do because he had to be a work at 6 AM at his location) they wanted to write me up. I quit.

I was in gamestop yesterday. The employee was talking to another store employee about someone higher up being fired no joke.

Iā€™m happy I never bothered answering a message from a GameStop manager asking if I was interested in working there. lol

The grocery store manager would change the closing rules whenever he felt like it so you couldnā€™t anticipate how to ā€œmake the store look niceā€ for the night so we would be there until 2 or 3 a.m. The next day the closing rules would change and so on.
  • I was working in the Deli at Wal Mart. 9 nights out of 10 I was the only scheduled to work the evening shift. They wanted me to slice the meat and cheese for customers, cook and serve the hot case food, and do all the dishes BY MYSELF. It's a 3 person job. We could get by with 2 people. Also they wanted a deep cleaning every night. I complained to management about it all the time. finally saying if it happened again I was gone. Being there alone while someone was on their 15 minute break or hour lunch I could handle but not for the entire shift. They obviously thought I was bluffing but the next time it happened I just closed the Deli and walked out leaving the place a mess and never went back.

LOL! You mentioning Rhino Video Games brought back memories of when I was an SL/General manager... I was trying hard to forget that place and now I have to go and cry in the corner for a few hours.

I left my job as a nurse at an outpatient clinic because of micro management, being lied to a our our annual raise (keep in mind we were already making 20% less than the nurses at the hospital) and the fact that multiple injured and even bleeding patients were forced to undergo drug testing before having their injuries addressed, due to their companies' paranoia about substance use on the job. Now I work at a rehab center. Yes, my new job involves poop and vomit, but it's a lot less stressful and a lot more gratifying (pays 75% more than the old one).

I've never worked for Gamestop/EB Games (in Canada). But I almost ended up working for them as my first job before I ended up backing out. They wanted me to OPEN for the store and be the only employee in store for like an hour or two on days I'd work, AND they wanted me to be ON CALL to respond to break in alarms... AS MY FIRST JOB AS A TEENAGER. In hindsight I dodged a fucking massive bullet.
  • @n1bleachfreak
GameStop isnā€™t only the worst job being a package handler at fedex was awful. You got paid $10.00 an hour and you only worked 2-3 hours a day.
  • @blubullie4850
I quit GameStop after working for a year there for $9 an hour. The thing that made me quit was not receiving the bonus for getting #1 in sales for the district during a bag sale because my SL was out on vacation during the sale. My SL and DL have been fired since I left, both for BS reasons. Now, they expect a store manager from another town that is an hour away to be the manager of both stores, without compensation or increase in pay. What a load...

Them: You calling my kid a lier? Me: of course not, Iā€™m calling them STUPID!!!
