The theory of the Big Five Personality Traits, claims that we can describe ourselves with five main characteristics: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism.
Each of us varies in how much of each trait is shown in our personality.
In order to understand what each trait really means, let’s look at these five characters who stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean.

People lost at sea: Help us! Psychologists: we could help you, but we will ignore your pleas for help in the name of science

Did a good job explaining each one but need to make clear we all are on the spectrum of each of those 5. We're not one more than the other. We're a sum of the parts. Not identifiable by just one or two of those traits in the big 5

I feel like it would be 100% reasonable to freak out after being stranded on a deserted island 😂😂😂

The drawings are amazing! Big up to whoever came up and executed the artwork!

This is really good. I remember learning this in the personality class. I do believe we possess a bit of all five traits depending on the situation we are in

Oh no. I just realised I’m the terrible mix of conscientious, agreeable and neurotic. I’d probably have a breakdown. Then get everyone off their butts and moving so we can live. Then someone else would probably take credit and I’d just be too shy and passive to take claim and then just do what everyone wants me to do the rest of the time. Yay for me 😑

This was an awesome way to explain the five personality traits. Prior to this, I watched videos that would explain it in a long-winded and yada-yada way. Using a narrative-style to explain the five personality traits is so much easier to digest.

I appreciate the effort that how smoothly the topic was explained in a story form. You guys made this concept too easy to comprehend. 😊
  • This is great! I was having trouble with remembering all the concepts of the theory and this has made it so much easier. Thank you!

Situational circumstances are a big flaw here. Everyone is conscientious and open until the Cockroach starts Flying.
  • Such an amazing idea to wrap all of that in a story😍 Makes it so much easier to remember

An interesting take on these Big 5 personalities! Thanks for sharing to inspire my MBTI channel. Randomly discovered your channel through the YouTube algorithm! 🤟🤟🤟

Reminded me of Inside Out. People tend to have different sensitivities of these traits which influence who they are or at least how they perceive themselves and how others perceive them.
  • I'm no neurotic, but if I'm stranded on an island I'm gonna cry my guts out 😂😂

I feel like this can exist in smaller groups (like when people split up) but when groups tend to be smaller they eliminate factors that exist but find not worth the companionship. And with that being said I also feel like individuals can possess multiple traits to compensate for the lack of an individual who would possess a new dynamic or even trait to the situation that may not seem desirable. (I.e. If you can read a persons intentions based off their demeanour)
