FIBA emphasizes size, shooting, physical defensive intensity, and experience: having shooting specialists like Buddy Hield may be more important than some NBA purists like to believe. Curry was streaky in this tournament and you need to cover your bases for situations like that, especially if you want to keep the spacing and defense honest. Davis will have lots of experience but it's clear that he's NOT a leader. Will Antman and Booker fill that void left by LBJ? Embiid handled himself well in this Olympics, but don't necessarily count on him in 4 years. He's NOT getting younger or healthier... If Tatum and Brown's respective egos are that selfish, then I wouldn't care if they were on the TEAM. I hope Morant can play, but his style may not be suited for FIBA play (and that's assuming he doesn't do anything else stupid and gets suspended in that Olympic year). I'm certainly not betting against Team USA in 2028 when the Olympics will be on home soil, but USA Basketball certainly has a great deal to sort out before then! in the meantime, enjoy this great achievement and soak it all in -- GO USA!
