There's a broken engine, and then there's a "you can see through the engine" broken.

Lots of boost + high compression+ not enough fuel (pre detonation) X bad tuning = blown engine

You know your engine is definitely beyond hope when you can see clear through the block. That is one big window in that offroader.

Rule #1 is no bystanders when a car is doing a pull. All the shops that allowed this should have their dyno pulled before someone gets a piece of engine block through their skull.
