CONTROL REVIEW - A MIND-BENDING MASTERPIECE!

Published 2022-09-02
Control is a game that pushes many boundaries. On the one hand, its unorthodox gameplay and destructible, sandboxy environment is an incredible achievement in game development. On the other, it's a game that can leave you genuinely mind-boggled at the sheer absurdity and reality-bending nature of its story. This video aims to help those struggling to grasp the games narrative, as well to leave a fair review of the game as an actual, playable product.

A great review for people like me who while have played most of it, Got a little more understanding of the lore! I suggest making your Board impressions a little less complete in sentencing but otherwise really enjoyed the end skit of it. Great vid.
  • While playing the game I was completely engrossed in it for half an hour. I'm a fan of SCP format type of stories, where mundane things clash with weird phenomena. I read every poster, like how to use the internet, beware of the mold, the stapler is not a stapler etc., and was trying to imagine what it would be like to work in the kind of environment. The first time I met the Board, I was stunned by the visuals and the way They spoke. You could feel the otherworldly intelligence, and how The Point-down Pyramid were trying to dumb things down so our tiny/restricted minds/receptacles were able to understand them. After that the game was starting to get more and more repetitive and annoying. Floating HISS aberrations constantly whispering should instill pressure and awe in the player - they became an annoyance after being in every bleeding corridor and room; HISS presence cutting off an access to part of the building - aghh I can't go there neither; Enemies didn't feel like enemies, just simple annoying puppets you wish to deal with faster. So in the end the story has a lot of loose ends, revolves around people getting mind-controlled by higher being, and the beings themselves are omnipresent, all-knowing, and unstoppable (unless you're the main character who can stop anything). Which is just cheap writing. Thanks for making the video! It was really enjoyable to watch. Your encouragement to like/thumb up/slay that button is just 🔥
  • I just found your channel and its awesome! The editing, storytelling and jokes are great. Would have never known about this weird game otherwise haha. Excited for the next upload!
