Someone needs to subsidize this program to pay drivers for their time. Nobody can do this regularly out of the kindness of their heart. Otherwise, it isn't going to improve. They need to get realistic about it.

Sounds good but the program should at least cover the cost of gas. Looks like the volunteers are also Kupuna age themselves. How is that sustainable? With that age group alone, there are many reasons this program will run in to difficulties. The State should fund this as a part-time job for pay to hopefully entice more younger able people on a regularly basis.

Nobody going do this for free because times is hard. Most cant barely take care of themselves let alone help someone else. You know how expensive gas is now days? All donations and funding go to the charities or health care businesses yet they cannot pay drivers? Why the government not helping Kupunas? Social Security should not be taxed.

only the rich or retired have the time to volunteer. otherwise: trade time for money, hence getting paid.
