Sadly, the resellers are already taking advantage of the stock at GameStop. I see them post in a reseller discord all the time about their GameStop flips.

People like to dump on GS but I always appreciated them. I'm a late adopter when it comes to consoles. GS always has a selection of games for them. I picked up a PS3 back in the late teens and at the time games for it were dirt cheap at GS!

None of the GameStops here in Portland have old school games for sale. Oldest they have is ps4. 😞

Thanks to the YouTube algorithm for the recommendation. It’s cool to see a little slice of the adventure and I’m happy to see that GameStop is still around and kicking- always had great experiences with the staff. Plus, there were some cool showcases like the Persona and FF stuff. Interesting to hear your observations about the reduction in toys and the addition of the retro games. Thank you for sharing!

I really need to visit more GameStop stores besides just the one that's closest to me (half an hour away). I live in Wisconsin and with Milwaukee being the biggest city, it has close to 10 GameStops in the area. Gotta take a day and do some exploring sometime.

As a collector and retrogamer, I actually LIKE shopping at gamestop. It's bizarre. I'd never trade games in to them again, but they're great for buying.

As a PS1, Dreamcast, Xbox era Funcoland and GS employee, those prices are obscene to me. Long gone are the times of decent deals it seems.

The Gamestops in my area don't have any of this stuff. It's still half funko pops and half current/previous Gen.

If you live in a smaller town, your GameStop will phase out older consoles and games. The GameStop near me pretty much phased out the most recent previous generation of consoles with pretty much a small selection of previous gen games.

I love it when they do the 4 for 40 or 4 for 20 deal. I end up getting some pretty cool stuff with those deals.

Love Gamestop, don't always agree with their business decisions. But I was blessed to be able to work for them for a number of years. Have loved them since I was a kid. The best midnight launch parties were always there.
