Also for Whitney, people rarely talk how OVERWORKING made her voice weaker. Whitney was a singer that never lip synced and also a very popular singer that was very booked. She has done so many shows cause she was a big touring singer unlike the other. Singing songs that are really hard every night without any help.

This is actually an interesting (and overlooked) topic regarding a vocalist's struggle to maintain his/her voice. Years of belting out long notes in a song, combined w/ particular habits and lifestyles artists picked up overtime, can put tremendous strain on one's vocal chords.

Mariah set the bar so high that she's judged harsher than anyone else ever has been... on her worst days she's still has more agility and a richer tone than most of today's singers on their best day.
  • I’ve only realised recently how important vocal warm ups are. I now warm up everyday for a week before I have to perform. I was shocked at the strength my voice gained just by warming up properly everyday.

Amy’s vocal decline in my opinion first started after her first album Frank, even the way she spoke changed after she finished working on her second and last album Back To Black. Her voice became more hoarse, and her head voice was basically nonexistent after her first album because of all of the substances she got into after meeting her then ex boyfriend which is who inspired the Back to Black album. Although her voice was able to adapt and she was able to work around it and give us beautiful vocals through the rest of her career, she had incredible vocal moments especially during 2006-2007 and she had a vocal resurgence during 2011. But nothing would ever compare to her voice during 2002-2004.
  • You make quality in depth videos on my favorite subject which is music. Thank you for what you offer us💚

i'm adraid mariah's voice will never recover. It damaged completely..she can't hold a full chest voice and using a baby voice now. Her recent performances and her 2022 xmas shows in canada she struggles alot can't even hold a note unless it was pre corded!... i just wish she do something about her voice and her lipsynching is so damn obvious she's bad at it!

Man, Whitney Houston’s case is the most tragic, it breaks my heart watching her mess up on her biggest hit I will always love you. she had a wonderful gift, but she didn’t take care of it, and then she lost it completely.
