1. Woolly Bugger in Olive, Black, White, and Brown. Sizes 10 to size 6 are great. I tend to fish bead head buggers in a size 8 exclusively. Beaded buggers are great for getting depth in deeper pools. If you want to target trout feeding closer to the surface or in shallow water, opt for a beadless woolly bugger.

4. Sparkle Minnow is a variation of a bugger and absolutely works tremendously. Sizes 8 to size 4.

I believe the WB is the best all around fly ever created. In any given situation there might be a better pattern for that situation but the WB is never wrong. The only way to fish it wrong is to not keep it in the water.

Great video. The olive WB is my go-to fly. I bet 50% of all the fish I’ve caught fly fishing have been on this fly. I did learn about the different retrieval methods based on seasonality from this video. Thanks.
