Best advice - stand ON TOP of gift ship. PS5-to-PS5 gift too buggy. PC-to-others OK but sometimes difficult. See below. - Some report that the moment they sell a ship - it disappears. I have not seen this happen. This is why I recommend that the receiver has to go and stand in front of the gift ship before the player giving the ship sells it to an NPC. - Some report that the moment they perform the sale, the other person's game disconnects. Again - didn't happen to me, and is probably also related to multi-player.

You can also do the Buyback trick solo to get your squadron all flying the same ship. Well, 3 of them at least...

Did the ship passing get patched recently? This stopped working for me on PS5 sometime before interceptor. The NPC just instantly takes off and the players fall out of instance of one another.

Everytime we do this my friend and the ship they sold dissappear and i dont get to see the ship until he rebuys it

Thank you for the info. I tried to do this and every time my friend tries to sell the ship for me to buy it, multiplayer disconnects us, so was something wrong with procedure, or was just a random bug, what do you think in your experience?

If your on PlayStation all you do is the steps he said but first thing you do is upload saved data to online then after you sell your ship redownload it then bam back to normal😁👌

I once gave myself a ship from the PC save to the PS save. The Golden Vector. It turned into a Golden Vector looking random fighter without the upgrades and random C class SC slots 😢😢😢

Can anyone confirm the giving of a normal, not twitch, not expedition, not created ship works? From what I've seen whenever you relinquish a ship by selling or deconstruction it just disappears. From my understanding this was patched out a while back.

Only 4 different ship types?.... shuttle, hauler, ,fighter, solar, exotic, sentinel & expedition specials

I have 9k hours in NMS and have given ships away many hundreds of times. I can tell you that this method DOES NOT WORK (PS5) to transfer ships. I have tested extensively with all makes of ships. Some just disappear and never reappear, others disappear and reappear as another ship. Right now I can only get 3 of 4 reward ships to transfer between players. I just tested it again before I posted this.
