  • If you do get this to market - consider making a version with this exact aesthetic - the white on pastel green, the no labels, the keyboard that looks like claymation. It just looks like something that wants you to play with it.
  • As a graphic designer: hats off to the whole art direction and visuals. Really enjoyed this.
  • @chili-dilli
I clicked on this because i thought the design looked cool, just to find out it's just a prototype - still one of the best designs I've ever seen
  • I don't know why, but this is one of the most aesthetic and calming videos I have seen on the internet recently. Its how the instrument looks, what music it produces, and the way of you calmly talk about all of it, makes me forget about all of stressfull things I have to worry about right now.
  • @dear_doob5689
I am an absolutely noob on music theory so I don't understand 80% of the video, but it looks really cooler than other similar instruments. love it
  • @JackMellor498
I’d love to hear a whole ambient lo-fi electronic album made entirely with this instrument!
  • @MayMcDonough
The complete serenity that comes with seeing a thing with no labels.

4:37 made me tear up with Don't Go Changing. My first instrument was a Yamaha PSS170, purchased by my late grandparents, which had that as the demo song. Countless hours trying to learn Super Mario World songs at 5 years old on the warmth of their living room carpet; grandfather smoking his pipe, listening to Paul Harvey on his transistor, grandmother sipping cherry coke from a can through a striped straw & flipping through a Danielle Steel novel, their voices and living noises still faintly in my head. I've missed all of it. You just made those memories louder and clearer than they've been in a while. Thank you.

The engineers and designers behind this masterpiece are LEGENDS.
  • you should definitely start a kickstarter to get this funded and manufactured, seems like heaps of people would love to see this come to life and be an available product! Myself included!
  • @nicolaussherrill
Yoooo the algorithm fed me a good one today. I'm glad you noted that this is a prototype. Principle-wise, it's solid — I cannot play keys proficiently but have enough years of studying music to know how to assemble chords and progressions in a key. I love that the hardware is focused on helping people create well-constructed music without needing all the actual theory knowledge behind it. Design wise, it's very beautiful but the current construction makes me question the overall quality of the build. The buttons and knobs look like they're liable to break or get stuck after some frequent usage. The materials look a little on the cheaper end too. Hopefully that's just part of the prototyping process, and I'm excited to see this project develop!

As an engineer and a musician this brings me joy. This was clearly built by someone who is inspired and passionate about both - this can be said about the whole music industry, but a lot of modern products lack the creative push and precise finish that you presented in your beta. Chords builder, bass and variation knob were beautiful concepts!
  • @samanam1931
As someone studying music theory I think this will REALLY help beginners with a way to easily visualise the theory without having to have experience in piano
  • @HHGilean
This is an amazing concept. This would be a huge, huge help to those who want to create music (beats, lofi, anything) but didn't have a musical education growing up. But alongside that, it would also be an invaluable tool for any bedroom producer, limited by space in a studio apartment with room for only a few tools on a small desk. I will absolutely purchase one of these if they go to market.
  • @huefey
Love the drum features, that tends to be a thing missed or done wrong in synths and even daws at times. Great work!
  • @mattjackson7445
The democratisation of music production is producing some amazing tools for anyone to make great sounding music. Taking classic musical theory and abstracting it away to a simple interface eliminates a very large barrier of entry to creating music. This is among the most inspiring instruments I've seen.
  • @1Chitus
"Oh wow" would just be an understatement. This is freakng amazing. Even me with no musical talent would like to play around this piece of hardware.
  • @mcsheesh2052
Even if Nopia wouldn‘t be a stand alone instrument, it would certainly be the most straight forward and user friendly way of making digital music
  • @mathcouec
It's the fifth time I watched this video and I can stop daydreaming about this instrument, I really really want to get my hands on this and jam with my friends :D
  • Fantastic concept, top notch aesthetics. Have played with chord generators in the past but this feels so intuitive and well thought for live performances.
