Video of Timber Creek Campground - DeOrr J. Kunz disappearance 7/10/15

Video of Timber Creek Campground, near Leadore, Idaho, taken in Sept. 2016. DeOrr J. Kunz Jr., 2 ½, was reported missing from this campground on July 10, 2015. (see below)

The video starts with a panoramic view of the area as I am standing near the camping spot of his parents, Jessica and Vernal, Robert Walton (Jessica's grandfather), and Isaac Reinwand (grandfather’s friend). Jessica and Vernal said they arrived back from the store/gas in Leadore shortly after 1PM. Not long after, Walton told Isaac to show the parents where they could catch fish in the creek.

Isaac led Jessica and Vernal to the large tree in the video with all the dead branches. This is where they went down the hill to fish from the island below. NOTE: the water runs heavier in the summer. Little DeOrr stayed with Walton and was walking back to him as the parents and Isaac walked towards the large tree.

The area where Walton said he last saw DeOrr playing in the dirt is shown during the walk to the tree, where I pan back to the picnic table. Walton may have fallen asleep while he watched DeOrr.

Jessica reports she turned back to look at little DeOrr a few times to make sure he was walking towards Grandpa as the three adults moved closer to the large tree. Jessica reports she last saw DeOrr near the rock, grandpa was close by sitting in a camp chair.

Views down to the creek and back towards the campground are shown. Jessica reports her last view of little DeOrr was similar to the 1:48 mark. The parents continued to follow Isaac down the bank.

Jessica fished, after a bit Vernal said he saw minnows and wanted to retrieve little DeOrr to look at them. He went up the bank to the campground and discovered DeOrr missing. All four adults reported seeing little DeOrr in the campground area until approx. 1:30PM (plus or minus 15 minutes in my estimate) when he disappeared. (We did see several minnows in Sept. 2016, downstream from this area.)

Jessica reports looking for DeOrr on foot in the immediate area and creek. Walton looked in the immediate area. Reportedly, Jessica and Walton were near each other when Jessica dialed 911.

Vernal looked in the immediate area, then drove his truck over the creek (there is a split off before the campground, allowing one to follow a road over the creek and towards the reservoir). He returned not long after (per Jessica) and they decided to call 911. Isaac, Grandpa and Jessica were on foot. Vernal said he drove down the road to ensure a better 911 signal. Walton, Jessica, and Vernal called 911. Walton’s call was dialed but the connection wasn't completed. Vernal returned after calling. From then on, per Jessica, no vehicles moved from the campsite until search and rescue arrived at approx. 4PM. DeOrr’s blanket was used for the scent dogs, but was not taken into evidence. The parents said they were told it had been handled too much for a good scent.

Isaac reports he went to the reservoir to search for DeOrr. To do this involves crossing the creek, hiking up the opposite hill, and continuing walking to the reservoir.

Much speculation has occurred since July 10, 2015, but one thing remains - Little Deorr Jay Kunz Jr. is still missing.
