Happy 5th Anniversary to Smash Ultimate!

I look back at the older fighters of the Smash Bros series to give suggestions of any improvements or changes that could be implemented in their inclusions for future games. I go over the representation of the characters and series. I will go over the 3rd party fighters in a seperate video.

Something I forgot to mention in the video, but I wish they could replace Donkey Kong and Bowser's voice clips for the next game. I'm suprised they've still stuck with the outdated melee ones till now.

Personally, I'd redesign Zelda and Ganondorf to match how they appeared in Tears of the Kingdom, with Zelda turning into the Light Dragon for her Final Smash while Ganondorf turns into his Demon King form.

Sonic & Ganondorf NEED revamped movesets I wanna play as a Sonic who rushes down on his opponents and carries momentum with combo's instead of hitting and running away, and I wanna play as a Ganondorf who actually feels like the Welder of the Triforce of Power instead of Captain Falcon's understudy
  • 20:33 He said outright in Pyra/Mythra's showcase that the sheer detail on the Xenoblade 2 models would've been far too much to have to render both for an extended time with high player counts. Might be able to get em both on the field if the Switch 2 is powerful enough though.

Give Snake his msx landmines that were in Brawl but cut from Ultimate
  • @jonadams2741
For Kirby they should his current Forward tilt to Chop Barrage from the Wrestler Ability and Final Cutter sucks either High Jump or Rising Break

I disagree with your view on clone characters. Making them skins doesn't make the roster less bloated. At the end of the day there will still be the same amount of characters in the game, but now the former clone character will have even less personality and moveset potential (since they will now copy their source character verbatim). Alternate skins only work if the way the character acts and functions in the same is identical to the original character. For example, characters like Olimar and Alph work as skins because they're the same size and do the exact same things in their game. Neither of them speak or show much personality, so making them skins works. But characters like Samus & Dark Samus can't be skins because they move and act completely differently and will need a few differing animations. Sakurai has gone on record and said that there were characters that were turned into echoes because of their minor model differences between them and their source character (Lucina & Marth are a prime example). However, clones like Lucina & Chrom are great choices to add, since they essentially let you turn off a character gimmick (Marth/Roy's tippers), which adds another playstyle to the roster. I think that clone characters should be pushed furhter. As long as they share the animations of their source character, they should be able to do completely different things. Give Dark Pit Orbitars that deal damage instead of block damage. Give Dark Samus' charge shot poisonous Phazon effects and change her Side B to firing her Spreader instead of a missile (she'd still use the same animation, but she'd fire multiple weak projectiles instead of just one explosive). Let Daisy summon a Poplin from SMB Wonder instead of a Toad, and let the Popplin throw a Wonder Seed as a counter instead of spraying spores. These are just a few minor examples. Clone characters are very helpful, because they require way less effort than an original character and are a good way to add more characters to the roster, characters that many people want to see, but wouldn't be able to be added to the game otherwise. They don't take away from potential newcomers. If the clones weren't there, there wouldn't be any characters added in the game that would've taken their place, the roster would've just been smaller.

Will there be a Mario Kart 9 game as well & another Sonic Racing game
  • @M64bros
I've read an article from earlier that Sakurai is confirmed to make more games and there might be a high chance that Smash 6 will be coming
