From the way Red Son speaks so highly of his father and wanting to prove himself, to how he shows relief and renewed confidence when Iron Fan shows up to collect him and the key.
Whenever he talks about gaining victory and power, he uses "we", including his parents, instead of "I", for himself.
And even for as little praise he receives from them, I honestly don't believe that they truly berate him (besides when DBK was possessed by WBS obv); I see the bickering more as a family dynamic, if you will.

I think it's really funny how Red son tried to kill Mk when they first met, but now he starts to respect MK more and becomes nicer to him. He even protected his friends in the new year's special. And it seems like we get to see more of Red's "cutie baby" side throughout the show. I feel like although Red tries to act all tough, scary, and badass like his father, his true nature is actually a dorky and cute baby.
