What if you were FORCED into being historical in Hearts of Iron 4? What if you had to survive as CHINA using only the completely historical and realistic divisions, organizations, and presets? Is it possible?

I've been on a HOI4 binge of using only the historical presets given by Paradox, alongside accurate, historical division organization. This time, it's time for some true suffering as the Chinese National Front, or Kuomatang. China STRUGGLES in this conflict, and so will I :P

The addition of Historical presets into Hearts of Iron IV was an awesome thing for massive history nerds like myself. Now, I play REALLY historically, using only the stupid tanks and planes that happened in real life! I'm aiming to do this with EVERY country in the game (or at least every major) so let me know a good suggestion down in the comments for more countries to play!

Hell yeah brother. I can't wait for the: "ISIS, but I use only Historical Presets & Divisions in HOI4?".
  • I can’t believe you’re turning 32,000 years old! No wonder you know so much about historical accuracy, you were there
  • the garrison order is ridiculous because when any enemies take tiles they're told to garrison they automatically abandon their garrisons to try and push out the enemy divisions. it's a stupid order.

I hate that Armored Cars are DLC locked, as that mean they will never be properly integrated into the game as they where historically.

25:20 so deep battle is the historical Soviet strategy as it was created by them, it’s actually pretty competent

"China didn't mass mobilize, they just had a lot of men in the army." - Aldrahill - visible confusion

Average NRA gaming experience: Artillery support is simply placebo.

The best method to keep the north safe is to not let Beijing fall, since it has an airport and preventing the Japanese from getting the supply depot in Shanxi, since the northern area is desert and mountain and terrible for supplies, so you can just keep minimum of troops there.

So actually the Chinese Nationalist Army used the hanyang 88 all the way until the end of the civil war as well.

I still want to see historical Finland. I'm also willing to help in the research to the best of my abilities if needed.

I love this series, but I feel like justice would only be done to a challenge like this with some type of immersion mod. No need to head to Black Ice immediately, but maybe something like the "8 years war of resistance" or total war could make this more fun, even for you which seems to be sorely needed judging by the amount of suffering you endured here. That, or it would make you suffer in a different way, but hey at least that would introduce a new variety to the whole ordeal.

Yo historical reference for the tanks is basically like naming the tanks the Chinese able to get hands on. Type 35 is basically Pz2 or T-26 and Type 36 is M3stuart. The Chinese did have a Sherman but most of them were returned to Usa during the civilwar and later brought back after KMT defeat

I imagine the reason only select units got AT and AA initially was because there simply wasn't enough to give every unit a useful number of either, so full AT and AA units go first to what I would assume was the most important divisions or needed them the most.
