Plain and simple: The game was released too early and then neglected in updates. The lack of new content in the last 7 months is unacceptable
  • Fun Fact: It's called MK1 because they took 10 steps back from MK11.
  • I low-key hate the kameo system, the lack of customization and the lack of single player modes really makes MK1 a very lackluster game.

I'm surprised they haven't made a no kameo mode yet, considering it's one of the main reasons people have left the game.

Not having a Krypt is crazy

Some reasons i've read. 1: Some people don't like the kameo mechanic 2: Way less customization 3: Having to grind each character to get unlocks (which feels like it gets nerfed if new patch) 4: As a result of #3, the loss of A.I. battles to level for you. 5: Way to many characters have gimmick mechanics that you have to use (Kenshi, Johnny, Shao, etc etc)

Requiring everything to be online is a big reason for me. I have internet, sure but i live in an area where its not always great, or maybe im visiting family without it and i want to play some matches with my cousins or something, the fact that u lose access to 85% of the game if you arent online is a HUGE turnoff for any game imo.

"What went wrong?" My gut reaction: EVERYTHING lol
  • 1. NOBODY WANTED JANET CAGE 2. Kross play still missing king of hill 3. No chat rooms 4. No practice mode while waiting load in like king of the hill. 5. Lack of soundtrack 6. Invasions garbage 7. Miss the krypt 8. Micro trans (not that bad) 9. No gold skins on cameo 10. No 2v2 11. You enjoy a character then get nerferd
  • Does anyone else just miss the simple gameplay and days of MKX?
  • Kameo system being mandatory is definitely a big reason why im not a huge fan of this one. I still had fun while playing it and the system can be cool, but I definitely prefer just a straight 1v1.
  • I miss playing Deception. It was so fun and wandering around on a quest in a fighting game while learning special fighting movies from characters like Scorpion. I miss that game.

To say players are “complaining” while we paid 110$ for content and a game that wasn’t finished is mad disrespectful and mad wild.
  • I really dislike the cameo system. I wish all the carakters could stand on thier own legs without it
  • MK11 Krypt was such an amazing feature. It was another game, went into the lore and history of MK.

As far as the shareholders are concerned, nothing went wrong. They sold 3M+ copies. FGC people need to stop deluding themselves into thinking that a game's ongoing popularity is at all relevant to its "success"; all they care about are selling copies of the game. They don't give a crap if people never play it; if anything, that's convenient. Tekken 7 had a long life as a popular fighting game, yet I guarantee you it still made the bulk of its revenue within a month or two of release... from game sales. If we get to the point where fighting games are free and supported by microtransactions, this could change, but as long as they're charging $60-$110 for each copy of the game, that's always going to dwarf any recurring revenue streams.

It sucks to see fighting games lose people’s interest because of terrible micro-transactions. All of the recent fighting game big 3 (SF6, MK1, TK8) have suffered from the same issues.
  • If invasions was open world like how the krypt in mk11 was, it would’ve been the most 🔥 thing in the game. Especially if you still had fight encounters. Even if it had to transition to the fights, the live action encounter would’ve been epic for this game.
