🏡FINDING A VANCOUVER APARTMENT ADVICE ~
Since Vancouver is pretty popular right now and tons of people are tryna move here, it can be tough to secure a place. I wasn't kidding when I said I emailed 45 places and only heard back from 7... It takes time and consistency.

🏡Where to search for places -
The top 4 places I recommend the most are Facebook MarketPlace, Craigslist, Padmapper, and Zumper (all linked below). Facebook and Craigslist postings are usually created by the owners of the apartments themselves, meaning sometimes they may have cheaper rent, and they may not ask you for as much information like reference letters and other things (depends on the owner).

- vancouver.craigslist.org/d/apartments-housing-for-…
- www.padmapper.com/apartments/vancouver-bc
- www.zumper.com/apartments-for-rent/vancouver-bc

🏡Information you may get asked for -
Many landlords want to see if you are a good tenant and that you can actually afford the place you are inquiring about. Normal things you may get asked for; Reference letter from a previous landlord, employment records or bank statements, yearly salary/ earnings,

🏡Getting an apartment secured from outside of the city -
This will be a challenge because so many people here are wanting to rent the apartments already, so the owners of these places may not want to wait for you to get here. I suggest going through FaceBook and Craigslist in this case because it is more likely the actual owners of these places will understand your circumstances - but again sometimes this is difficult.

🏡Don't get scammed -
Don't send people money until you have seen your place in person, or through a video tour is what I say. Scammers tend to ask you to send money before you even see the place. Always ask for a tour in person or virtual, and if they decline, it is kind of suspicious and may be a scam.

🏡Need Roommates to make rent cheaper? -
Facebook is the best place to find other people who are also looking for people to rent an apartment with. Just search for Facebook groups dedicated to Vancouver housing, and Vancouver roommates. That's the best place to find people!

This video took weeks, and hella emails lol. I really did send out almost 50 emails. Most of the time you just never get a response, but don't get discouraged because that is normal in the Vancouver apartment hunting scene. We looked at places mostly in Kitsilano because that is the area I am trying to live in - I do have other videos touring places downtown which you can find on my channel! Also looked at places in Point Grey, False Creek, South Cambie, and more. Moving to Canada and Finding a Vancouver apartment really is a mission. But u got this!

The last one was clearly the best!!! good choice haha. The pink one kinda had me going tho 😂😂 and I woulda begged the owner to let me repaint it LMAO
  • Hey, hope you know this already but if the landlord force you to move out they have to 1. give you 2 month notice, and 2. compensate you with 1 month rent for forcing you out (this is assuming they wanted the suite back for their own use, and that you had a tenancy agreement to begin with!)
  • @jessdelight
Omg that pink apartment is like the ultimate 70s barbie dream apartment 😂
  • @khunopie9159
The great thing about pink and mirrors design aesthetic is when you look in the mirrors you get to appreciate the pinkness
  • @AnaPaulaBuzzo
OMG the pink one, what was that? 🤯 I'm really confused! lol
  • @chonger
hahha ya relatable telling the realtor filming for the roommate, that's what I did and no questions asked... haha anything for the youtube content! i think the last unit was the best, so I'm glad you picked that, if you didn't show the prices, i would have thought that one would have been more, so i think you got a steal!
  • @kardin25
I personally like the first and the last one, clean & empty, easier for you to plan out your layout
  • You work from home and have a vehicle, just suck it up and move further out. I didn't want to originally but now I got a 2-floor house, upstairs: 1 master bedroom. 2 smaller bedrooms, living room, full bathroom, and a kitchen. downstairs: 1 master bedroom, 1 living room, half bathroom, laundry room. Plus we got a huge backyard for only $2100 in Richmond. Works great for me and my roommate, we rarely see each other other than when I'm upstairs cooking or going for a shower.
  • the pink one is SO COOL!!! i love that old school bathtub and all the mirrors. They are a great addition for incorporating more natural light into the space
  • @towaniisme
I’ve been thinking about moving to BC so I’m taking this video as a sign! I liked the pink one bc of all the mirrors and the pink.💀 But I also really liked the 3 bedroom one because of the potential office space. The one you ended up picking was really nice too! I like the floor bc it looks modern and I especially like how bright it is.
  • @DeGoya
let me guess, you got the one where you blurred the window and didn't show the outside, eh? just a wild guess haha
  • @roevatanas
