I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but for Meli's first battle, you can actually select "No," and there will be no battle. I found out by accident since I picked "no" so I could switch my lead Pokemon, and I was surprised to find that the story progressed anyway.

33:04 For some reason I didn't think about actually...battling Dialga, so I went directly to throwing balls to capture it. I had one random pokeball in my bag, so I threw that first, and caught it immediately. Turns out Dialga is not a guaranteed capture.

The flags for the events in the game are so simple but so effective to prevent the breaking of the game

I don"t think that the clan leaders just have a random eevee appear but it is there other partner and since they don"t use poke balls they have it fight you along with the other

I really like it when there's an incentive to catch multiple of the same pokemon

I wonder how the npc's feel when female professor oak falls out the sky then proceeds to ignore everybody and saves the world in about 5 hours

Ah yes this speed run really is harder than you think (at least from what I remember) lots of preparation for this definitely.

This was my first pokemon game, and I found it very charming how literally every issue in this entire universe is resolved by whipping a Pokeball at it.

When I first got Wyrdeer I immediately jumped it off the cliff and died

Imagine a 100 percent run of this game, so all dexes perfected, all requests done, all the story done and getting arceus. It'd be pain

Speedrun tip: You can catch the lake guardian bosses, and the balms you throw at Azelf don't need to be aimed anywhere near it.

You can tell this game was NOT meant for speedrunning, still cool to watch tho
