  • Sheer cold increases in accuracy based on the level gap. For every level they have above yours it gains 1%. So sheer cold had a 34% rather than a 30%. Which does a lot more than most people expect, just like how 95% accurate moves miss so often.
  • I wasn’t fortunate enough to play these games when they came out only played the Original ones and honestly seeing how this game was made, man do I wish diamond and pearl had the same treatment cause holy crap it looks so beautiful.
  • Fun facts with Jake! This actually mirrors the competitive scene near perfectly, as in gen 3 kyogre was the most dominant mon in ubers, while, when oras dropped, groudon surpassed it by a long shot
  • I guess you could say that alpha saphire is hard mode. That and maybe more people should be using the grass type starter in the game where the villains primarily use water types.
  • 8:13 That’s actually 34%. OHKO moves gain 1% for each level above the target the user is.
  • I had no idea how hard alpha sapphire gets dunked on lmao
  • @N12015
34/66% chance, not 3'/70%. Sheer cold gains 1% accuracy for each level above the opponent, making the situation slightly worse.

Why do speedrunners use the red orb in OR, while avoiding the use of the blue orb in AS against Glacia? Is it because Kyogre can theoretically win faster without it, but Groudon has to transform to win? That would be an awkward case of one game having a strat that is technically faster than the other, but more annoying to perform because it is inconsistent.
  • I feel like it's worth noting that the Walrein can also go for Surf or Body Slam and we usually only have to risk 2 turns on the Walrein, which makes it much more reasonable to go for the no Blue Orb strat since you are fairly likely to survive
  • So since Omega Ruby is the preferred game for ORAS speedruns does that mean that Omega Ruby is avenging Ruby or something
  • The Latios in the red game and Latias in the blue game is also in the originals but you get them latter and is harder to catch them, only in Emerald they let you choose which you want. Also I think is better that you can't skip some parts of the game.
  • I am here solely because of that thumbnail it is adorable pat whoever made it on the back they deserve it
  • @AFXffs772
Groudon is actually much better for the 8th gym as it sets up Desolate Land which nullifies Water moves, which the AI doesn’t get and will still spam Water moves seeing the 4x weakness oblivious to the fact it’s doing 0 damage, this also saves time on the animations
  • Poor lati-ass. It's so cute but not strong enough for speedruns :(
  • 1:35 In my Pokémon Y playthrough, that was the Black Belt in Reflection Cave who had nothing but a Sawk. Dude wiped 4 of my pokemon before I could get a single hit off.
  • @nerddwarf
The accuracy of OHKO moves increase if the user is higher level than the target (1% per level), and fail if the user is lower level than the target. Level 54 Walrein has a 34% to hit Sheer Cold against a level 50 Kyorge It's only a 66% chance to not get hit by Sheer Cold, not 70%
