  • As a Floridian where we are taught this, don't Zigzag. The Alligator will run in a straight line anyway, they aren't half as dumb as you think they are. You want as much space between the Gator and you as you can get, run straight forward or go to something you can climb that the Gator can't (A fence for example) Just also make sure you can get down without the Gator getting you Edit: To everyone saying Gators can climb stuff, they can, but we can do it faster. Go over the fence and continue running.

Fun fact: if you’re saving someone who’s drowning and have to go into the water to rescue them, do not approach them from the front. They will try to climb onto you to stay afloat, so always approach from behind to avoid that.

You don't actually need to run in zigzags, it will just slow you down and the croc will probably just run in a straight line anyways

Your lungs filling up with fluid after being under water for a long time and feeling lightheaded means your are “dry drowning”
  • @fishrealm
“If you drink something and it’s salty, it might be spiked” This milk must be spiked

Mythbusters tested the crocodile myth, crocs are incredibly unlikely to actually chase you. They aren't keen on chasing down pray, they are ambush predators. They did everything they could and just couldn't get a gator or croc to chase them even to test the control of their experiment
  • If you get burnt badly, but don’t feel the need to go to the hospital because you feel fine, you absolutely should. Shock sets in for burn victims sometimes up to a day later. It’s not the burn that kills you it’s the shock.

Don‘t brake when a deer passes right infront of you and there’s no way you can avoid it. There’s a higher chance the deer will go through the front window and kill you than when it just gets knocked away from the hard impact.

please specify that coffee-ground vomit means the gut has internal bleeding. Just "bleeding" doesn't really convey the urgency

For the deer one, if its night do everything you should do but turn off your headlights. Should cause them break the staring at the lights to then run out of the road.

Never get near enough to a drowning person for them to grab onto you, either throw them a rope or swim around them and have someone else tow you back in. If they grab onto you they could drag you down as well
  • @n3al38
Me going to the hospital : hey I almost drowned! . The docter : nah you fine
  • @Lianiii227
Also for the Alligator thing, they cant run for very long, and running in zigzags makes u more likely to fall down. Just run straight forward for as long as you can or climb a tree
  • @aarons6935
As an Australian we're taught not to zigzag, it is an absolute myth.
  • What exactly am I supposed to do about the lightning one? Like, great, I know about it… now how is it supposed to save my life?
  • @birdman6089
Do not run in zig zags to avoid an alligator, they naturally run in a zig zag pattern, running in a straight line is more likely to end with you still being alive
  • Don't run in zig zags from a Croc or gator. They're not dumb so they're just gonna run straight at you instead of following your zig zags. Plus it makes you more likely to trip and you'll keep going across their Jaws which is definitely not ideal. Just sprint for a solid 30 seconds in a straight line and you should be fine. Any reasonably fit person should be able to outrun them especially since they won't chase you for very long. Don't try to climb a tree either because they can climb as well.

If someone is drowning be careful while saving them because in their panic they might try to climb on top you thus pushing your head under the water, if this happens literally slap the person youre helping and tell them to calm down
  • @Anguuuuu
