Don't get me wrong. Building a 1 km skyscraper is more than outstanding, but I want 1 km of building, not 1km minus 200 meters pillar on top. 🤷🏻

@2:03, I like how he says " obviously you know about this building "..
  • For the Petronas Twin Towers, there are some facts to be added : 1) The 2 main buildings are built on steel tubes with glass outer wall with a shape of the Rub el-Hiz with a circle extending out. The buildings are also being split into layers, with each layer getting smaller as the height increases. 2) The twin towers are sat on a base (which is not shown in the video) spans an area much larger than the sum of each tower's base. The base serves the shopping mall, exhibition halls, educational theme park, and aquarium. It also serves as a base for some other shorter buildings like Petronas Tower 3, Maxis Tower. 3) The twin towers are being linked together with a 2-storey walkway in the middle, supported by 4 tubes, 2 on each side.

Geez, I remember the Burj Khalifa being a big deal when it was finished, but seeing the Jeddah Tower being a new one in construction really makes me realize how far humanity has gone.

I will never consider the Petronas Towers taller than the Sears Tower, especially since the Sears Tower has occupied floors that are higher up than those of the Petronas Towers. I honestly don't feel like spires should count toward total height either, regardless of being a permanent fixture.

I keep thinking this is a small channel that deserves more subs, and then I see you've almost at 6.5 million subs, lol! You still deserve more subs though!

The biggest challenge now is going to be planning and actually building them in a realistic time frame. It would be interesting to see if prefabrication and standardisation can help. Broad Sustainable Building might revolutionise skyscrapers with their 838 meters tall skycity tower that could be built in just 90 days.

Sir, Can you make video on , how Uttarakhand tunnel collapsed and how workers are rescued ?
  • @jerryodell1168
An interesting thought: What is going to happen when they need to take these buildings down in the future and they will because all buildings exceed their life span?
  • I came here for the meme. I'm almost frustrated at how really fascinating and informative this actually was. Amazing video.
  • @ruffes33
Mr Fazlur Khan was the brilliant structural engineer from SOM who invented the tube system for Highrise buildings he was not the architect like it was said in the video
