how did they make the most broken pokemon Mega Rayquaza

I remember before ORAS came out everyone thought this would be a primal with the Jade orb, then the trailer came out and we were like 'oh cool, Rayquaza has a mega'. Only once we saw the lack of a mega stone did we realise what they'd done. This already busted sky dragon looked at the central gimmick of the generation and went 'nah, I'm gonna do my own thing', ate his bloody mega stone and now gets to hold an additional item in addition to its already stupid high stats. The metadgame post this event was never the same, this was the point when the floodgates broke.

Gamefreak: We buff pokemons slowly and gradually and take several generations. Also Gamefreak: Lets give a broken legendary an even more broken mega evolution, why not?

Who made this mega was clearly on something. They're insane.

It's design isn't fire, it's the STORM THAT IS APPROAAACHIIIIING!!!!

Keep in mind, it has the bulk of a Mega Kangaskhan, as fast as a Raikou/Starmie, and hits as hard as an Attack-form Deoxys, its Ability reverts its type back to Dragon while keeping the Flying type resists/immunities, it has a signature move that is just Flying type Close Combat which only 3 types resist (Electric, Rock, Steel, all weak to Earthquake unless levitating or Flying type), oh and lets not forget CAN HAVE BOTH V-CREATE (180 power Fire move) AND EXTREME SPEED (80 power fastest attacking move)!!!

SM actually did Delta Stream's animation dirty in a way; actually looks dirty compared to ORAS. I also miss Rayquaza spinning around when mega evolving like in ORAS.

Mega Ray was not created as a careless attempt to make a cool and strong Pokémon, it was specifically designed to be the most broken Pokémon in existence. 180 AT and Sp. AT, coverage out the wazoo, an ability that eliminates any weather and removes the weaknesses of its secondary typing, and to top it all off it can hold any item. This wasn’t the mistake of people trying to play god, this is the fruit of the labor of someone who wanted to CREATE god.

If this is how Mega Rayquaza was when stats and its moves did in fact align with lore, I wonder how gamebreaking a Mega Arceus would’ve been if it was given the same treatment.

The fact they gave this thing v-create and then busted mega stats on a mon with DD, 120 BP flying STAB (no recoil like BB either), and STAB draco still baffles me to this day. Game freak really just wanted to watch the world burn.

When a Pokémon is so broken that a whole new Tier has to be made because even Ubers, a tier where the most broken Pokémon in the game go, is like "Nah. This is too much"

I dont care what anyone says about mega ray; it has the most KICKASS design of every mega. Did it need it? No. Does it still make rayquaza look like ot could fight the entire galaxy by itself and win? Damn straight it does.

Primal Groudon: if you fight zacian crowned would you loose? Mega Rayquaza: He would give me some trouble certainly. Primal Kyogre: but would you loose? Focus sash Mega Rayquaza after a dragon dance boost: Nah, I'd win.

I would have been dissapointed if this wasn't a video of Rayqauza one-shotting everything.

Dude a Rayquaza without mega evolution literally has the stats of a regular mega evolved pokemon 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
