Coraline is an incredibly complex piece of work that took a total of about 4 years to create. The entire cartoon is done in stop-motion. It's no secret that the creators always leave something out of the original premiere. A lot of footage that took months to spend goes unseen. There are quite a few cut scenes in Coraline as well. Some scenes, reveal Coraline differently than it is shown in the original cartoon, and some add a new essence to the cartoon.

Guys, I know that's a movie and not a TV series or sth. The reason why I used words "episode" and "cartoon" is because English isn't my native language. I was firmly convinced that "cartoon" is the right word. Sorry for my mistake. When I said "episode," I referred to "scene." Now I understand my mistakes. Sorry, and I will fix it in the next videos

Bruh I was so caught off guard by Coraline's "your grandma's Black, right?"

Coraline being from Michigan is interesting because the movie came out in 2009, which is not too far removed when the state's economy got destroyed by the Great Recession. It probably explains why she and her family were moving.

The grandmother scene caught me so off guard 😂😂😂😂

What's interesting about that scene with Coraline's mother asking her to draw something was actually something that happened in the book. When Coraline asked her what she should do when she was bored and she said to draw something. Though in the novel, Coraline tried to draw a mist but couldn't so she wrote the word but spread it out.

I noticed how alot of the cut scenes really showed how much Coraline got along and loved her dad more than her mom, which kinda ties in with her care for the other father in the other world,I guess they wanted Coraline to have no reason to not want to go to the other world or stay there because if she went she would have a reason to want to go home which would really foil the other mother's plans entirely.

This movie hasn’t aged a bit it’s still the most talked about movie and it’s been 14 years

Super interesting to see how the creators envisioned this movie, many of the cut scenes where interesting and would have definitely changed the whole outcome of the movie.

The scene where Coraline draws spirals is likely a reference to a scene in the original books where she attempts to draw mist but apparently can't think of how to besides writing the word m i s t in swirly font, especially because it transitions into mist-like spirals in the other world outside the window. Also, personally, I think the stain on the shirt was probably left there to save time. I'm sure they just reused the puppet and assumed the audience would guess he got a food stain from the dinner they're implied to have had before bed. If anything, the stain would help to imply that food was eaten recently and the father is a kind of clumsy, unkempt person. Apparently they were wrong to assume that-- I had no idea anyone paid that stain any mind lol.

That scene where Coraline’s mom asked her to draw was an interesting one!! Coraline throws a spider into her mother’s coffee, which later crawls out. It would’ve been a cool foreshadow to the Beldam (AKA the other mother) always eating bugs

"You're grandma's black, right?" I would've cried laughing if that was in the actual movie🤣🤣 they should've kept it

The thing about the coraline and the buggy roses scene, is she still has the poison oak. That was gone after she went to sleep for the first night. The scene also ends with her going to sleep. In the kitchen scene after her and Wybie meet, she says “I almost fell down a well yesterday mom.” Meaning a whole day had passed. The mom could also know about Wybie because he left the doll on their front porch for her. She also never refers to him by name. She says “you’ve already made a friend.” I feel like the only logical place the scene could go, is after they meet. Though if you have any clarification on where it really goes, I’d appreciate that, because I’m trying to make an extended cut of the movie.

That grandma scene REALLY caught me off guard 💀

I think these scenes being deleted makes so much sense honestly. It also adds some buildup to the end when Coraline actually is bright and cheery. Also you’re insanely underrated. I expected you to have like 20k subs or something. You deserve so much more dude ❤

Its really cool to see the slightly unfinished details in the cut scenes, stop motion behind the scenes is always fascinating to watch

The thumbnail got me hook, line,, and sinker ... I was excited to see a deleted scene with that mystery boy character

"YoU'rE GrANDmA'S BlAcK, RigHT?" That made me laugh I didn't expect it xd
  • So wait, you’re telling me that it’s coralline’s fault that her parents were so busy and barely made their deadline?! So if she hadn’t flipped that switch in the breaker room her parents would have had time to spend with her and she might have not cared enough to go to the other world? That’s wild 😂

WAIT WHAT IS THE CREEPY BUTTON EYED BOY IN THE THUMBNAIL?? It’s the sole reason I clicked on this video lol
