Delta Force Rescues Italian and Polish Hostages in Iraq, sets World Record (Objective MEDFORD)

On April 12, 2004, 4 Italian guards were kidnapped in Iraq. After a few days, the kidnappers executed one of the Italians and told the government that further steps would follow if their demands were not met. As a result, men from the American Delta Force decided to pay a personal visit to the terrorists.

After several raids and top-notch detective work, all clues pointed to an inconspicuous compound south of the capital, Baghdad. Here, not only were the remaining three Italian hostages to be held, but also a Polish employee who had been kidnapped in early June.

A Squadron operators did not hesitate long and within minutes were sitting on four Black Hawks so as not to lose valuable time. Two additional helicopters served as reserve and transport for the hostages, while four Little Birds were to provide air support. Once again, the Night Stalker pilots demonstrated their exceptional skills by racing to the enemy complex in a contour flight and landing three of the 20-meter-long transport helicopters inside the compound.

Before the wheels had even fully touched down, operators poured out of the aircraft and secured the building at high speed. After a record time of just over 17 seconds, they arrived at the hostages, encountering virtually no resistance. While the Italians and the Pole were being released from their restraints, one of the Delta Force soldiers said "We're Navy SEALs and here to get you out!", jokingly quoting the 90's movie "Navy SEALs" with Charlie Sheen (at this point you can see some comrades laughing in the video). Several suspects were apprehended and brought back to base unharmed along with the four hostages.

It was the first hostage rescue for Delta Force in the Iraq War and it wouldn't be long before the next complex scenarios followed.

Before he died, Fabrizio managed to defeat his enemy's plans to use him as propaganda. They wanted to show a man terrorized in order to spread fear. But he turned it on them at the last moment, and left them with a video tape showing what true courage looks like. He defeated his enemies, even in death. For that, he is a certified legend. RIP Fabrizio! We know who the real men were! 🇺🇲♥️🇮🇹
  • @teekydeeky
That guy went out like a bad ass. Mad respect, and RIP.
  • @DrMurdercock
Hats off the that Italian ( Fabrizio Quattrocchi) for going out like a warrior.
  • @lou8809
RIP Fabrizio. Left this world on his own terms, Salute
  • @Superplums
Huge respect for Fabrizio, I remember this incident and his final words. Not only how an Italian dies, but also how a real man dies. RIP sir.
  • @StandorFall13
The fact they secured hostages within 17 seconds of wheels not even touching down is a testament of how good these guys are!!
  • @brandond6724
A warrior does not die kneeling he dies fighting . Rip Fabrizio 🙏
  • @Guitar_Guy783
The fact that they made a joke while still inside the enemy compound though
  • @Raf-eg7db
Just remembered about this happening back in 2004 like a flashback: our national media didn't mention much at all (just a little tbh). I shall thank you Brothers in Arms for bringing up the whole story behind this operation, I'm especially grateful to those Delta Force men who saved the hostages' lives and eliminated the threats; your act won't be forgotten. Riposa in pace Fabrizio, sei degno di essere un vero italiano 🇮🇹
  • "i ll show you how an italien dies" ... Rip legendary italian. rip wherever you are <3
  • Got to hand it to Delta. They are professional badasses with a sense of humor. 17 seconds is the fastest I've ever heard of a rescue going down. Kudos to these brave men.
  • Here's to you Fabrizio compadre. A patriotic Italian soldier indeed. Rest easy partner. Godspeed. Salute to the Delta Force. The unsung heroes of every American war.
  • @joesgotya9930
You should do a video about the kidnapping of Journalist Jill Carrol by Al Qeada in Iraq in 2006. Delta Force and the JSOC task forces targeted and killed so many dudes in such a short amount of time looking for her, that the very last group of AQ holding her dropped her off in a public market not far from an American military base. That’s the level of fear that Delta Force put into the enemy.

“I’ll show you how an Italian dies!” I am sure his family, and the entire nation of Italy, are still rightly mourning him. The loss of a loved one is irreplaceable. The loss of a countryman is beyond tragic. But, as evidenced by his courage in the face of evil, he was a man of honor. While his loved ones understandably grieve his loss, they should be honored to share blood and have shared their lives with such a hero. “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.”- George Patton It is sad he is gone, but Italy is a better country and we are a better world because men like Fabrizio lived. Baciamo le mani, brother. Rest easy.
  • We're Navy SEALs, and here to get you out. A Delta Force Operator really said that.
  • @outdoors5352
If you know your fate, then go out fighting no matter how little it may be. You'd rather die on your feet than live on your knees. RIP Fabrizio, well done.
  • @caspertoo
If Fabrizio wasn't bound I could see him doing the Italian finger pinch and then giving them the two fingers. What a boss move.
  • @rhymetimeuk
I absolutely love these video's. Not only do you tell the story of the operation, you give a personal touch to it so we can truly give respect to those who fall or are lost in the war. Great content, thank you for making these.
