Air France Trip Report flying from Los Angeles to Paris onboard one of the Air France A350 on a lovely summer day over the US and morning over Europe.

A comfortable flight onboard the Air France Airbus A350-900 from Los Angeles to Paris CDG. The A350 is the newest model on Air France's fleet, offering their most modern cabins. Even though the flight was fully booked, the flight was really nice.

We took off from Los Angeles towards the west, which means towards the Pacific Ocean. After an initial climb over it, we made a more than 180° turn to our left and started our route towards Paris.

We overflew the city of Los Angeles and continued towards the San Bernardino mountains, that we overflew at a quite low altitude. We entered then in the Mojave Desert. As you may know from other Trip Reports, the area from this point until reaching Denver is just phenomenal. It is one of the most beautiful areas in the World to see from a plane.

From the Mojave Desert, we flew towards Las Vegas and the Moab Dessert. The views of the valleys, reefs, cliffs, mountains... were just amazing. We had perfect clear skies so I really hope I was able to capture the beauty of this area through the camera.

We continued then towards the Rocky Mountains. We entered them over Grand Junction and flew towards Denver. We then flew over the States of Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois, before reaching Chicago. From there we flew towards Boston and entered the Atlantic Ocean. Already next morning, we flew next to Ireland and the UK, before entering France, landing on-time at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport after a cloudy approach.

Now it's your turn!
Have you ever flown with Air France? Which route? How was the experience? What do you think about the Air France service? Have you ever been in Los Angeles? Maybe in Paris? Have you ever flown on the Airbus A350-900?
Lots of things to talk about! See you in the comments!

  • The flight attendant making the departure and post-landing briefings had the most lovely voice and accent when speaking English. I could listen to her all day

Besides the speed it amazes me how far they can fly. I remember back in the old days you had to have at least three engines to fly over the sea. Such a smooth landing.

I've flown Air France several times. Always a nice experience. My most recent flights were last December (2023) for the holidays. Miami to Paris in business class on 777-300ER and it was AWESOME. Return was also on 777-300ER but nicer business class layout so it was even MORE awesome. Will be flying again, but in coach, in August. Miami to Paris / Paris to Vienna. 787-900. I got myself some extra legroom by taking an emergency exit seat. I think it's smart since there's no seat in front of me...I can get up to use the lavatory without waking my neighbors....if I need to.

I can’t help but feel how your videos effectively convey the sense of scale of these aircraft, almost like a 1:1 of what you would actually be experiencing if you there. Good video! 3:26 was the moment that made me write this
  • @gregt8638
Excellent explanation of the 20:11 Jetstream by comparing it to walking on a moving sidewalk! Thank you for another enjoyable video. I feel like I've gone on a trip without even leaving home!
