Gold recovery from circuit boards, including laptop display PCBs, is a process known as electronic waste recycling or e-waste recycling. Circuit boards contain small amounts of precious metals like gold, silver, and palladium, along with other metals such as copper and nickel.

I think your videos are brilliant & you clearly have a great understanding of the chemistry your employing. If I may add a suggestion with ref to the huge volume you are using of Hcl (Hydrochloric Acid) and Hno3 ( Nitric Acid ). Your goal is to create Aqua regia which used on this material will digest everything metal on the boards gold included. Which is great. However approx 5ml of Aqua Regia (AR) will dissolve 1g of pure gold. My suggestion would be perhaps use a much lesser volume of AR and process your gold bearing materials through the lesser volume in batches. I would guess personally use just Hcl on its own and regular additions of HNo3 to the point there is no reaction and saturate the lesser solution with all the metals and then disguard the treated pcb’s to treat the next making full use of the acids. This will bring your processing cost right down and save on urea also. And working with less volume is safer for involved. I’m inspired I’ll have to make a video myself perhaps replicating yours with my method suggestion. Regards. Dave uk.

What about this? I know a guy whos making a pyrolysis chamber it can cook the boards into their raw components breaking down the plastics and polymers. Since its pyrolysis it will be oxygen free meaning most metals wont oxidize and besides that the heat point wont be enough to melt metal. Then the carbon ash can be removed easily and the remains can be put through various methods to separate them. For example gold panning could separate the gold and silver from lighter metals like aluminum steel or tin. I think you would have to do the finer methods of clean up and gold recovery but the equipments there from there purify the metals.
  • Good job. The biggest difficulty is finding cheap scrap metal, where I live. A hug.
  • You are a busy man! I know from experience. You had to take apart alot of LCD to get this amount! I like the older Dell LCD because they are much faster to take apart. I just got done taking apart all electronics from a 30 yard dumpster. It took me almost 2 weeks! Great Video bro!🏆🏆🏆

Is there any gold or copper inside the skreen within the glas or plastic sheets? I have seen around the edge there is something

The gold I thought was solid on some pins out of old 1977 controller have turned redish brown. When I hit with sand paper there is gold under tarnish. How do I bring back gold color with chemicals??
  • Красиво, аккуратно, спасибо за труд и видео👍

Hi sir I have some doubts after collecting the gold dust on cotton filter and that is any chances of gold in waste solution

There is a mistake or ulterior motive in the video! I extracted 1.35 grams gold from 4 kilos LCD board.

As much as 1g of gold from 8kg of panels from monitors, a stunning result considering that it was necessary to disassemble probably over 100 such monitors and use so many liters of acids. I expected a better result. And what happens in this process to copper, silver, stannum, plumbum and other metals that aqua regia dissolved? None of them precipitate with the gold when sodium metabisulfite is added?

Привет дружище! По нашим ценам кислот ушло на 25-28$ больше чем вышло золота...но видео получилось 👍

Im curious to know what your crucible is made out of. Do you make them yourself?
