If you take some pokemon (like regigigas since it's the first case that worked) that "scare" the wild pokemon and you can make them run to your character range too

The patience you have is renowned

The extra trick here is only "powerful" Pokemon will get wild Pokemon to be herdable. This means things like Legendaries and Mythicals are actually super useful in synchro mode to use as herders since wild Pokemon will always run from you. You can also use "strong" final stage Pokemon, such as Flygon for example, that will also cause wild Pokemon to run away from you, allowing you to herd with them. Things like Little Cup Pokemon however will not cause them to flee, so basically as long as you never use Synchro Mode with babies or "weak" Pokemon, you'll be able to herd shinies to yourself that you encounter while in Synchro mode. Hope this helps.

I found this out the hard way. Sadly, shiny Totodile kept going the wrong way and walked too close

I remember I saw shiny trapinch spawn while I was messing arong with synchro mode, but I was in the canyon biome. I rebooted the game in the hopes that it'd spawn again, when I went with my character by some miracle another shiny trapinch spawned.

Oh right I forgot wild Pokémon tend to run away from your Pokémon when using the Synchro Machine and that can be tedious with some slow as heck Pokémon but it can also be beneficial since you can basically chase them towards your character and make sure you can avoid shiny fails

I actually did this with a shiny froakie in water, I felt proud of myself and named it Cathy after you since the article after you lol-

if you use a big pokemon, usually smaller wild pokemon will run away! Regigigas is the best example!
