Love to see some soft star content! Their facility is in a super cool building in my small town, good people there and made in USA!!!
  • @nathanbarry9534
Please review the upcoming Bearfoot Bruin Patriot! Made in the USA, barefoot, and looks like it’s a stitchdown similar to the Jim Green Ranger/Trooper.
  • Idea to test wear resistance of soles beyond hardness! Use the bar-drop-set-up and a precise scale. + belt sander with new belt. -Weigh the shoe. -Let the bar rest inside a shoe, pushing the heal against a small belt-sander. -Run the belt sander for a fixed amount of time. -Compare the weight of the shoe after test to original weight to determine how much rubber has worn off. I suspect some softer soles will wear less than some hard ones and I am curious to know!

Vivo forest esc would have been more comparable for this video. I don't remember if you have done those before or not. They are pretty great. I have worn them everyday for a few years. I have been eyeing those jungles though since they have released. Definitely going to snag some if they run any kind of sale.

Thank you for making these videos! They are highly informative!😊

Here's my obligatory comment for the algorithm, I love your stuff man. Keep up the great work.

I have four pairs of Ahinsa — amazing shoes, high quality. I’m not vegan, but whatever they use, is high quality and lightweight. I also love how wide their shoes are and some styles even come in extra-wide.
  • @fhistleb
Those softstars look like they would be supremely comfortable after a quick breakin.
  • I've had a pair of the Bruins for the last 8 months. They took two or three weeks to break in, and the first week was really bad. Out of the box they're not comfortable. That being said, after a month or so they got to be so comfortable that I didn't even notice them on my feet. And worked great during the winter, too. The only thing I'm not sure I like about them is the absolute lack of ground feel compared to normal barefoot shoes - though that's to be expected for a boot

I know loafers might not be you think @roseAnvil. But there needs to be a quality guide out here, breaking down loafers. I need your opinion 😢
  • Awesome review. In my experience the softer outsoles tend to have better performance on ice and slick rocks, even if overall durability is less. For me the increased traction on slick surfaces has forced me to choose slightly less durable outsoles for the increased traction, because falling off a mountain seems like it would kind of suck.

I love the wool felt that is used in the one boots. If only they used better leather.
  • @bobabo
Really intrigued by the Vivos. They look a bit funky, but I'm impressed by the intentionality behind the design. If they end up being durable, I'll be sold.
  • I walk about 15-20 miles a day on blacktop. Ive liked the barefoot shoes (whitin canvas) so far better than work boots. It took a while to get used to. It my back feels much better. Same with my knees and hips. My ankles still get sore, and so do the balls of my feet, but that’s getting better. I was an infantryman in the Marines. I’ve always worn boots. I never would have thought that barefoot style would be so much better for my body. I have a pair of the Jim green boots ordered. I can’t wait to try them. These Bearfoot ones look interesting. Same with the Vivos. I might buy them both and and see how long they last. Tim Pros with the anti fatigue soles were my go to.

This video was amazing. Been a fan for a while, but this was extra good. Video about water outdoor shoes? I had some Olukai loafers that looked pretty good but fell apart. This kind of video would help a lot.
