The lyrics are incredibly sad when you realize they're about the dev who died from cancer in their sleep.

Clarification about the mod: The character was created by Divide, a previous developer of the "VS Sonic.ExE" mod who passed during development. Yourself, the unnerving version of Boyfriend, was his creation. This song was paired with the character as a tribute to Divide. The lyrics have a double meaning. They represent the lore of Yourself, that being that He is an alternative version of Boyfriend where his gf, known as Herself, died in an accident. The lyrics also (supposedly, but I don't believe this was confirmed yet) represent the developer(s) of this mod talking directly to Divide. Originally, the lyrics were used in a different track called Subterfuge. The lyrics were taken, rewritten and used in this track later on. (Please be aware that i'm merely recalling this from my memory, some of the details may be a little off, but I did do my research previously.)

the lyrics are a reference to how they created this entire thing for one guy on their team, as he died due to cancer while sleeping, and they found sketches he made for this character, so as a memorial they made this, and the lyrics are saying how he would be proud of how good this is.
