First place on a single credit. In truth this was sort of a sloppy run, but I got a couple lucky breaks here and there that the game usually doesn't afford me.

So this is where Sonic discovered speed as his life purpose.

That blue guy swinging around looks interesting. They should give him his own game series.

I have an Sonic hanging on my car because of this... Nowm since I got married and got 2 kids, I added Tails, Knuckles and Shadow to join the party...
  • 3:41 "NOW YOU TOOK THE TOP RAD 1" Such English...much wow. It's amazing how the English translation didn't come out as well as they thought it would. That goes for almost every japanese game developer, like Sega, Taito, and Namco.

Great concept for a game, I always thought driving across the the country is a great idea for a racing game. I've always wanted the Need For Speed franchise to go back to it's roots and apply the methodical style of dealing with traffic and cops in a gumball rally style game across the country! This game always reminds me of Encino Man LOL!

This game is to OutRun like the badass rocker younger brother of that cool smooth older kid.

The dude saying "RAD MOBILE" sounds like Troy McClure. Also it's interesting how the driver has no problem stomping on the gas after getting in when he's still fixing his gloves...

No-one does humongous sprite-scaling arcade beasts like these anymore, and damn it I want these dinosaurs back!Ah, back when games were still fun and easily accessible. Looks like I'll be getting the old Saturn out tonight then...

09:05 taking the railways as a shortcut. Love you Sega!

I never heard of this. It looks great for 1990 though. Each minute of the video there seemed to be a new effect I wasn't expecting and I thought: "IT DOES THAT TOO?!". A true technical gem. Really amazing piece of work.

It's because of this game that I have a Sonic figure dangling from my mirror in one of my cars.

    これも時々やってたなぁ。いつも最後までいかなくて。揺れ動くソニックが印象的だった。
  • this game really delivers on a fast sense of speed. you really feel like you are moving incredibly fast

i played this at a free-play arcade, which means i got to beat it. the ending confused me

My favorite memory of this game is the dangling Sonic. I'm so glad they decided to replace Fuzzy Dice for that.

I was born the year this game came out - it did not stop me though from completing a perfect run back in 1998. My dad would always tease me as I had to use 2 tokens (the price for one play) to win as he managed to get on with 1 credit (lucky bastard) and still manage a perfect run with my baby sister in his arm while he drove.

    勝つと分かってるのに手に汗握る素晴らしいデッドヒート。ナイスプレイでした

This has strong Death Race 2000 vibes minus the gratuitous violence.

Well, is not a "Perfect Race", but man... it's a hell of a playthrough. Lots of memories came to my mind. I never was good enough to play this game, I was like 8 years old when I saw it for the first time. Thanks for this.

This game reminds me of Need For Speed The Run, only you race against 249 rivals
