The Escarpment Trail - The Catskills - NY

Published 2022-12-03
An amazing hike on the Escarpment Trail in the Catskills with lots of views the whole way through. But my plans may have been a little too ambitious this time. Originally this was supposed to be an overnighter, going all the way to Blackhead Mountain and camping at the Batavia Kill Lean-To. But I didn't quite make it. I was exhausted by the time I reached Stoppel Point, and I still had 5 or 6 miles to go. So I opted for the bail-out plan and took the Mary's Glen Trail and Rock Shelter Trail back to the car. Still, it was a great hike and one that is definitely worth revisiting to finish the whole trail in a future adventure. I will be back!

Wow! The views along this trail are stunning. Awesome video as always 👌.
  • Just did most of this this past November. North South Lake was awesome. I'd imagine though it's way too busy for my taste in the summer time. It was empty in November which was nice.
