I wanted to add (yes even in a video this long I apparently omitted information) that after I finished the video I went back to rewatch some old RinryGameGame videos and realized that most of the Myths and Creepypastas era was inspired directly by her editing style. I can see much clearer parallels between her videos and what style I was trying to mimic than the other channels I mentioned. So shout out to Rinry! She is retired as of 2013 but her videos are still entertaining so if you'd like to check her out: youtube.com/user/rinrygamegame

Hearing your full story is also a really good historical reference of how young people experienced Youtube then and now and also the evolution of YouTube as a platform.

“I started to realize that my worries about nobody being interested in me for who I was were pretty unfounded.” A wonderful realization!

Oh my gosh, Tama you were my childhood. I was a young girl who absolutely adored pokemon, and watching your videos made me so happy. I never felt alone watching your videos. Thank you so much <3
  • Fun Fact: I watched you ages ago! Unfortunately I lost the Youtube account I watched you on and am now just refinding you because you popped up on my feed! I also so glad you're doing better mentally than when I last saw you.

Wow, I'm honestly blown away. I remember I always used to think of you as "the girl with the pikachu hoodie that did Pokemon videos" when you'd pop into my recommended back in middle school. Fast forward to now and I'm nearly 20. I had no clue there was this much going on the whole time and I'm hella glad I got to see this, welcome back and I look forward to seeing what you have to upload! :)

Don't get why people are so upset over a name change. Been watching you for 7 or 8 years now, literally ever since I was a kid and now I'm a grown ass adult. Not gonna stop watching because you decided to go under a different name lol You, JWittz, and MunchingOrange are the big three poketubers I still watch. Y'all remind me of some pretty happy times :)

yo, tama, just wanna say– i started watching your videos in 2012, and i have a very vivid memory of 13-year-old me commenting something snarky and very anti-gen 5 on one of your trivia videos (something along the lines of "i hate [very petty detail about gen 5]). it was honestly a really rude comment. you actually replied to me, in a very nice and graceful, "ok we get it you're 13" way, and it stuck with me because i think that was the first time i really realized that there was a person behind a youtube channel? like, it's one thing to know that what you're saying can be directly seen by the creator, but its another thing to be confronted with it. so i wanted to thank you for that, and also apologize for 13-year-old me being a douche. this was a really fun video to watch– i love the direction your content is going in right now and i can't wait to see more!

As a reaction channel that was somewhat successful a few years ago, everything you’ve said about confidence and people liking you for you or not, was so relatable to me.

"there's an inherit cringiness to use a username that you created when you were 13 into your late twenties." Me: no.

This video was a great watch! Great to see you doing well. Found your channel a decade ago when I was 14/15 and great to see you're still doing well. Congrats on everything you've achieved over the past 14 years and hopefully year 15 will go well for you!
