Chorus:
I'm sorry, Ms. Jackson, ooh, I am for real
Never meant to make your daughter cry
I apologize a trillion times
I'm sorry, Ms. Jackson, ooh, I am for real
Never meant to make your daughter cry
I apologize a trillion times

Thank you for immortalising these sweet animals. Remember, this song is old, these cats & dogs have passed but live on with the kindness of OUTKAST. Best rap group to have ever existed IMO. ❤

I love this quote: "You can plan a pretty picnic, but you can't predict the weather." Great words to live by.
  • As a child I watched this video and never understood the metaphorical imagery. Ms. Jackson rides outside the home with a look of disgust. Meanwhile the boys greet and wave despite the negative attention. They are also doing great things to make the house a home. BIG BOI is waxing his car out front and Andre is putting up wallpaper. (Look how often the wall paper came down but he never gave up). The unpredicted weather rolls in and the beautiful wax job just blew up in his face. The storm comes with heavy rain. Andre is inside trying to catch every drop to save the house. BIG BOI is on the roof making repairs. In the end the roof caves in. Nothing they ever did was good enough to make the house a home but there is always light even in the darkest of times as shown in the very end when they are gazing through the open roof. I love you Outkast. The song and video is real art. If anyone had a different perspective of the video please share.

To all the young folks out there, that eventually will hear this masterpiece for the first time; If you ever hear someone say "I'm sorry Ms Jackson" you HAVE to reply with "Ohhh I am for real"! This is an unwritten law
  • @joecurran2811

Man, listening to this now as an adult and musician, outkast has a real deep knowledge of rythm and an outstanding use of melody. They have catchy hooks (0:34) and danceble rythms, while also using weird measurements and metrics in their verses, (0:56) and word plays and expressive, even theatrical sentences (2:29) Is a fucking great party. lyrically simple but topically heavy. Man, no wonder Andre is now dwellin even deeper on music, experimental jazz n shit, true musicians expressing their complex selves for general audiences, you can listen and dance to it, but if you choose too, you can hear it too.
