Alderman Moore you are a good man. You are trying to help the people of your ward. May God protect you.

He said more in this segment than BJ has done in his term as Mayor. Imagine of we had a Mayor who didn't talk in circles and admitted things are messed up.

Where are the rest of the people that live on the block I only see him shouldn’t they be the ones out there with him?

Have to admire his approach. More 'walk' than 'talk'. Hope the police are watching out for him.
  • Alderman Moore, I applaud your efforts! But you know the streets are merciless. You be careful, good Sir.

Jayne Byrne moved into Cabrini Green for three weeks in '81. The Mohawk should camp out with you.

  • This situation reflects bias in law enforcement and state/federal prosecution. The alderman should not have to sleep in a vacant lot to decrease drug trafficking. U.S. and Illinois laws offer several ways for the State Attorney or U.S. Attorney's Office to prosecute any drug dealer, gang, or cartel orchestrating illegal activity on that street. This situation indicates that the government stakeholders (the local U.S. Attorney, State Attorney, former Chicago mayors) consistently overlook this problem in this Black/Brown community. In contrast, let an illegal organization start dealing in a vacant lot in Lincoln Park; we would see arrests and indictments in less than 6 months.
