my mother would play this song, and she was so proud of how far we've come. We used to drink our sht away, but i got a steady job for a while and i think she was proud of me. But now shes 6 feet in the ground, and i hope she will still help give me the courage to keep going

Imma sing this for my girl on our wedding day. She had spent sleepless nights studying while working and now she's getting promotions like crazy, she's also an associate with her firm and a trainer to the new comers. I'm really proud of her and I'm glad I got to be there with her through it.

If I were to write a song to myself, this would be it. One Year clean after 10 years of being strung out, graduating high school in 2 days, started my first college courses two weeks ago, moving in with my incredible boyfriend this week. I've done so many good things for myself this year and it's been the hardest most rewarding year of my life ❤❤
