Published 2024-03-12
ZACK MOSS SIGNS with the CINCINNATI BENGALS: Josh Norris and Hayden Winks of Underdog Fantasy break down the Zack Moss move from the Indianapolis Colts to the Cincinnati Bengals. What does this mean for both teams? Does he see the larger workload or is it 2nd Year RB Chase Brown? Will it be too much of a split backfield? Can his explosive runs from 2023 translate to the Bengals?

Joe mixon was not bad last hr 1400 all purpose yards behind that o line and 12 touchdowns this was a cap saving move to sign other free agents joe was a great team leader and motivated the fans and off field involvement in the community most Bengals fans are sad he's gone.

“Who really cares about 1.5 million dollars?” Uhh Mike Brown

Mixon had one off field issue since joining the Bengals, and it wasn’t an issue… he was cleared of any wrongdoing. Do your homework. He will be missed

People are looking at Mixon with rose-colored glasses in these comments. He was usually reliable in short yardage situations and doesn't really fumble, but he's bad in pass protection and was ranked near the bottom in the category of runs for 20+ yards. It's not smart to spend $6.5M on a guy like that, especially when you can get a guy who's younger, has less "wear" (has about 3-4 seasons LESS NFL carries), is much better in pass pro, and can create longer runs from shotgun, a formation the Bengals love to run out of for whatever reason. It makes all the sense in the world to move on from Mixon.
  • @RaydinAE11
I just hope the Bengals run blocking improves so this guy can flourish.
  • @DeuceTreySniper
Bengals Coaches need to get a fken grip terrible af blocking scheme and kept blaming Mixon, can’t keep blaming Mixon when your OL scheme are so trash..trying to run zone concept with a power OL then when you run Power OL they look like shit and get bully..Bengals coaches need to fken get a grip, 11 personnel and running from shotgun..smh

As a Bengal fan I loved Mixon but he couldn't pass block. This move was purely to get similar production but have a guy that can stay in and protect burrow not have to be taken off the field on 3rd down.
  • @marvinhunt8276
The Colts has a great offensive line. The bengals line ranks 26th. You'll get no production from moss with that horrendous line.

OFF FIELD ???? THE CITY LOVES JOE MIXON !!! MAYBE YOU MISSED THE ENERGY HE BROUGHT NO MATTER WHAT THE SEASON WAS LOOKING LIKE , THE SMILES HE ALWAYS SEEMED TO PLAY WITH !!!! HE HAD A SINGLE OFF FIELD ISSUE THAT HE WAS CLEARED OF , SO IT WASN'T AN ISSUE !! STOP THE FALSE NARRATIVE, THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING " OFF FIELD " ... 5.2 ypc in 11 personnel out of shotgun (which Burrow loves) for Moss as well as a 35-40 point better pass blocking grade ..

This has less to do with off the field stuff than you give it credit for young fella. You guys outlined the reasoning perfectly. Joe costs more, Joe not as effective out of shotgun, Joe is no longer breaking tackles like before. But ultimately Joe has never been a good pass protector. Bengals cannot afford to have quality pass protectors in the offense for multiple reasons.
  • Off the field issues???? I'm going to leave this alone. Good luck to you Mixon.
  • The Bengals front office, the city, and Mike Brown all LOVE Joe Mixon. This was a purely business (productivity and cost) decision. The bengals being “over the Joe Mixon off field experience” could not have had less to do with this move. Literally zero effect on their decision

I'm a big Mixon fan but this just feels like a smart pickup for a guy who fits the role. esp if he can duplicate what he did as a starter last season with Indy. I don't know the Colts On-line well but they seem to be a pretty stout run blocking unit. Cincy's line is just okay.
  • @swoesteban5570
Joe was a very dependable back. He's just lost a couple of steps.
  • @dylann.7874
20% exposure on underdog in the 170s… hyped
  • Chase Brown could end up the starter. Moss is good rb but I don't think hes on Joe Mixon kind of a level of a player and the colts probably have the best oline in the nfl. Doesn't matter who was back there they had lanes to run around. Moss is more of just a back up rb. He was never very good on the bills not until he got to run behind colts great oline then ya he was good. I expect the bengals to end up finding a rb through trade or free agency this year. Bengals should of not been cheap and went after Barkley or Pollard.
