The chain chomps are immune to lava/poison because of the sub area in Cascade where you have to ”domino” them and hit them into a hole, since they’re on poison there they need to have immunity to it! (Short explanation of the question at the start of Cascade at the first moon 04:02)

Everybody is out to kill Mario but now the environment is after him too. This is one of the many reasons why Bowser being president was a horrible idea.

Aside from the fire and DRAMATIC INCREASE IN SKILL DIFFICULTY, this mode as shown me that SMO is the greatest 3D Mario Game. Mario just moves so easily. His jumps are more in tune with what and where the player wants to go. More challenging moons are there to go after if you would like. The music, the levels, and the secrets. This crazy mod showed me how much I love SMO.
