The railway's multi-stage renovation programme runs until 2031, but doubts remain as to whether this timetable is realistic. Tim Oliver Müller from the German Construction Industry Association talks about the challenges, including decades of mismanagement and the capacity limits of the rail network. Although cooperation with the railway is going well, the timetable for the 41 corridors is ambitious. Müller stresses the need for realistic planning and financial support. A lack of skilled workers and inefficient use of large machinery are further hurdles. Will the project be completed by 2031 or will it be delayed until 2035?
