Drivelapse video of Ontario 69 North starting from just north of the Key River Bridge, and then heading northerly along the newly divided segment of Highway 69 overtop of both the French and Pickerel Rivers before heading northerly through Estaire before following Highway 17 (the mainline branch of the Trans-Canada Highway) westerly to the Long Lake Road interchange in Sudbury.

Hey there! Glad I found your channel! I found your website YEARS ago and really loved how you had the progression photos of all the construction of Highway 69, specifically! I grew up and live in Sudbury, and have travelled that highway many, many times over the years, and witnessed some of the changes myself. I've been thinking of doing some videos similar to Auto Shenanigans of the highways in Northern Ontario. Enjoy your work, keep doing what you do!
  • Great vid. The scenery is stunning, and the winter snow really gives these roads a magical atmosphere!

The snow makes it so beautiful. It's not often that you see a road video filmed when it's all snowy!

Perfect scenery and weather conditions. Highway 69 was rather nice and empty drive when I visited. Lots of traffic cops that day though.

Great drive! This might be a long comment so read it carefully. If you ever decide to go Japan again and drive on expressway, here's the terminology you should know: -IC, stands for interchange, where expressway and non-expressway connect. -SIC stands for smart interchange, which is a ETC-only interchange. It means same thing mentioned above but you need a ETC to exit/enter on a expressway. This can be found on PA (Parking Area) or SA (Service Area) in addition to expressway itself. -JCT means junction where two or more expressway connect. The IC, SIC, and JCT ramp name is named after nearby city/place. -PA, stands for Parking Area, features small parking lot, restroom, and drink vending machine are only offered. Some of them have shops, local goods, and rarely, gas station. -SA, stands for Service Area, features large parking lot, restroom, shops, convenience stores, restaurants, gas station, regional souvenir shop, and sometime tourist area such as Ferris wheel or view of famous location. They are model after United Kingdom's motorway service area. All SA and PA are named after nearby city/place.
  • How was winter driving in the province of Ontario (and even before and when the 2022 Freedom Convoy began throughout Canada)?
  • Did you mention the latest extension opened around Christmas 2021. Around the summer of 2021, construction had not been completed yet.

Do you see that the construction of the new High. 69 has improved since October 2017?
