Having someone not immediately give papyrus the skeletor voice is pretty odd to me given how seemingly universal that instinct was when the game came out

To be honest, evading Undertale spoilers for 8 years is probably the same difficulty as evading taxes for 8 years. Just a rough estimate. Edit: what the hell this comment is the most liked comment in the comment section and usually i dont even get a single like how the hell (also those replies that mention doing tax evasion, im surprised if you aren't on a list) Edit 2: Man it really is luck based, eh?

A blind playthough of Undertale in 2023???? Absolutely insane. I honestly don’t know how you avoided spoilers for that long
  • @lightwing0313
i struggled so hard with the muffet fight when it first came out, hearing my friend say "if you had just bought and ate a spider donut youd skip the fight" made me so mad😂

Man, is it just me, or is Undertale getting a bit of a revival? This has to be the third person recently I've seen playing it for the first time. Edit: since I've had multiple people ask, the two people in question are Therm (highly recommend! His voices are great!) and Solidarty (specifically the VOD channel if youre looking for it), but Bijuu Mike is also doing it, apparently.
  • The more years since the game’s release, the more charming I find blind plays. Finding one 8 years in is such a rare gem, and I’m actually impressed that despite avoiding spoilers and gameplay for so long, you were still able to figure out a lot of the less intuitive solutions without your chat backseat gaming (also as a side note, I witch-cackled out loud at the edited “you should kys right now” meme with undyne)
  • Favorite minor detail is that toriel's eyes are colored on the chat box. She is the only character who's eyes are colored like that, it's hard to notice though because her eyes are dark brown

the fact that this dude got the rare refrigerator message on his first try ON STREAM is insane.

1:08:13 holy fucking shit, i have NEVER seen someone actually understand the "talking flower" conversation before literally ever. every other blind let's player i've ever seen just assumes they thought wrong immediately and completely dismisses the rest of the conversation the moment the echo flower is brought up. i haven't finished the video yet, but even if this guy forgets the whole conversation within five minutes like every other let's player, he's still surpassed my expectations by simply realizing that sans IS talking about flowey, and was making an incorrect assumption in thinking it must be an echo flower.
  • By far my favorite game, it’s hard to strike a balance between story, gameplay, art, and music like this game does

This playthrough is actually really funny in an interesting way. Since Undertale popularized a lot of hallmarks in modern indie games, Waligug's already seen the effects of Undertale without knowing the source which makes the game weirdly predictable to him.
  • Seeing the epilepsy warning at 39:53 say "Skip to 55:05," but then it's the "cool dude" special attack made me laugh. XD Epilepsy warning actually ends at 40:06
  • @penntopaper9305
i find it crazy that people have managed to avoid the "flowey was asriel the whole time" spoiler for this long. trying to dodge that back when the fandom was in its first huge wave was like trying to hide from machine gun fire 😭
  • @percy445
this game was definitional for me in middle school it’s so great to see people still being moved by it
  • @Cinnamo_T
2:22:15 > Walks further than anyone else does on their first playthrough, and also pretty smoothly, until getting into the one devilish softlock > "I suck" Do not be so harsh on yourself :(

In my 8 years of being a huge fan of undertale, watching a ton of playthroughs from youtubers, family, and friends NOT ONCE HAVE I SEEN SOMEONE FIRST TRY FLOWEY, ACTUAL GOD GAMER Edit: To anyone who first tried it, you missed some pretty cool stuff. I recommend watching someone who does fail.

I LOVE the determination in the repeated attempts to go downstairs at toriel’s house. Well done. A true gamer.

i find it interesting that undertale basically telegraphs most (if not all) of its punches, if the player pays enough attention. literally just reading and acting as the game tells you leads you down the true pacifist path. but iirc when it came out, so many people were used to classic grindy rpgs, the effect it had was huge. hell, this can be seen in some other youtube playthroughs as well, like in pointcrow's. he got to like lv10 or 14, and the regret in his eyes when the game basically slapped him across the face with consequence after consequence for his actions was palpable lmao and the best part is, even if you go straight for the true pacifist ending, you get an amazing experience. no matter how you play, the great writing, amazing music, fun gameplay just keeps you engaged (unless you go on that one route, in which case all warranty is void lmfao). but everyone gets their own personalized experience, depending on the context they start the game with. truly a wonderful game, and i'm happy to see people find out about it, even after its heyday :) the fanbase has thankfully somewhat mellowed out, although if you dig deep enough into any huge fanbase you'll always find some rot. that's just the sad truth. excited to watch the rest of this playthrough :) you're very perceptive and funny as well. perfect wombo combo
