Thanks for the link and the UV9G PRO mention guys! If I may do a little plug here, the Happy Hams will be happy to know that there's a new version of the UV9P... the UV9PX, coming out very soon also. It has some new features that the UV9-Series has been lacking for years, and bring the line up to parity with the new UV9GX. Hit me up Josh. ;) Cheers!

Oh, and the reason he’s grown so quickly is because of the super hilarious, dry dark and brilliant sense of humor.
  • @coffeeseven
The NotaRubicon channel has grown so much because it's an honest appraisal of radio equipment, because he doesn't give a fork about what others think, lots of his dry sense of humor and because Xenu wills it to be so. Especially that.
  • @UltraZelda64
This guy kicks ass. I love Randy's videos. He has single-handedly opened up the radio geek in me.
  • @mastrsk8
I got my HAM in 2020 and found Josh’s channel. He helped a lot with the tech test and then programming my various radios, which are Boof-Wang up to Anytone. Now my neighborhood is setting up an Emergency Response group due to the prediction of a large quake coming and found Randy and GMRS info! Thanks you both for costing me thousands. Don’t let my wife catch you out in public! 😂
  • @phraktl
Literally two of the very best channels on YouTube in the same video. Love it.
  • @rogueyota
It’s been a year, but I enjoyed episode. I’m new-ish to GMRS and ham. They are different worlds sharing the same universe, and Randy exemplifies all that is not full of crap. I learn from you both.
  • I'm an intermediate level off-roader and communications was a game-changer for our group. I've learned so much from NotARubicon and his radio reviews are great. I've been watching his vids for a couple of years. I really like his sense of humor. I'm a GMRS guy, but who knows, I may become a happy Ham 😁 so I can increase my distance using repeaters. There are only Ham repeaters in my area.
  • @GruntProof
All HAMers agree: the UV-5r is the absolute best radio on the planet 🤣
  • @PlXELPUNK
As someone who has just recently found themselves getting into HTs, Randy is a fresh breath of air simply because HE IS NOT A GATEKEEPER. He's WELCOMING to the (GMRS) hobby and encourages you to use what you have while educating you on the shortcomings of the hardware.
  • @TheWebster-fz1cq
Love both your YouTube channels. It's very informative and a must. It really makes a difference when you can get a good analysis of everything to make an informative decision on how to make things work in emergency situations.
  • @daviduhl1233
Absolutely love this video and the collaboration between HAM and GMRS users.
  • @RandoRaf
I became a Randy Fan because 1. He is hilarious 2. Every question I have asked he has responded.
  • I came across my late father-in-laws radio shack scanner and hooked it up. Now I'm thinking of getting back into radio for fun. I've been watching your channels and wanted to thank you for all the straight forward info. Keep up the good work.
  • @zac_in_ak
GMRS is really good for family that have no interest in being a ham. I watch you both and enjoy both
  • @MrTux62
I love both of these channels.... so much entertainment and information - having both in one video is complete awesome-overload. Thanks guys :)
  • @Davidg1t1
Two best yt radio bros I’ve found. Thanks for sharing your experience and thanks Josh for having Randy on. Great show!
  • @smorris281
I’ve been a licensed HAM and GMRS user for 15 years. I don’t have separate radios for each. I have an XTS2500 and I have everything programmed in.
