"No man born of a woman can kill him" +1 for Crocomom theory

Blackbeard not sleeping isnt a mystery. he just drinks a 5 hour energy every 4.99 hours

Blackbeard being unable to sleep makes me think of the T.E. Lawrence quote, “All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake up in the day to find it was vanity, but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. This I did." Bone chilling if coming from Blackbeard.

Blackbeard's Mum is out here catching strays we lol "...inside the dirty oven that was his mother's womb"
  • I look forward for Oda revealing the full backstory of Marshall D. Teach and his life before joining Whitebeard Pirates and struck out on his own as the new Emperor like he did with Bartholomew Kuma who went from child slave to priest to Revolutionary to Warlord to The Pacifista.
  • I think the 3 witches could be represented by 3 devil fruits. One raised him to warriors status, the second to emperor, and the 3rd will make him king.

The thing about Blackbeard as a 12-year-old having been fed information about his fate and what he's supposed to do reminds me of Orochi and the old Kurozumi crones who guided him to power behind the scenes. If it weren't for her Orochi would never have stood a chance of becoming Shogun. She is also directly responsible for Kaido showing up on Wano and partnering with Orochi.

One thing that I found tragic is that Blackbeard's betrayal is completely unecessary. If he just asks Thatch to give him the Devil Fruit and explain how it's his goal to find it, chances are Thatch would just give it to him no problem. I highly doubt Thatch would just lock a veteran crew member out of his dream

"The dirty oven that was his mother's womb" I don't think I've witnessed a violation of this magnitude, of someone's mum, in all my years on this earth.

"No man born of a woman can kill him" Crocomom theory is getting stronger.

Adding to this idea is that his inability to sleep makes Blackbeard a child of the night while Luffy is quite literally the avatar of the Sun.
  • @NorrisVaughn
The sleep thing was first mentioned by Luffy during the Drum Island arc. He called it an illness, and apparently it occurs in people on Winter Islands. And there's proof that Blackbeard came from a winter island, like how his nose is running in that one sketch, or how Blackbeard was first mentioned in an arc based on a Winter Island
  • Law should've just used room and testicular torsion. It should have defeated the entire Blackbeard crew

"crying under a full moon", meanwhile the moon: not being full
  • @eliguttman3169
Did anyone else think of Buggy when GLR mentioned Luffy and Blackbeard as the 2 luckiest people in One Piece???
  • @tobiaswedin
I doubt that Jaya Burgess were strong enough to beat Luffy. Maybe Zoro, just maybe. But not Luffy. Also, I think there might be some level of importance that the moon child Blackbeard sat crying underneath were a crescent moon. Full moons only seem to follow Luffy's highlights. We can also not forget that Roger actually explained the will of D to Whitebeard who made a note of Teach having this initial. So Whitebeard can have shot himself in the foot by making the then young Blackbeard believe he is of great importance through passing this info on to him. No one has said Blackbeard's plan started at 12, it could have been later on. When he asked to join the Whitebeard ship it was out of desperation and loneliness, it didn't seem like he was scheming at that point.
