They'll be a few minor spoilers in this one, guys. As I said earlier, power in Dune is not typically discussed in these terms, but considering the fact that there are several characters in the Dune universe who would seem superhuman if they were to appear in real life, maybe it's actually an interesting topic. So I thought it would be fun to rank the characters. Let’s go from least powerful to most powerful. Also, I will only be discussing Frank Herbert’s Original six Dune books for this video!

You guys are right! Murbella should have been AT LEAST honorable mentions! My bad!

The movie was so good that it got me watching all sorts of videos about the lore
  • @CSGraves
After reading all the Frank Herbert books, it felt like Leto II was the central figure in that universe, extending his influence not only far into the future, but into the past as well.
  • My father loved Dune. I was too young to grasp it. He passed away 15 years ago. You ignited my interest in this fantastic epic. Thank you!

The most powerful being is sand. Even Anakin couldn't beat it
  • Alya was one of my favorite characters. I absolutely FELT how she was abandoned by her mother.

Alia. Truly the most tragic character. Potential, confusion/vulnerability, and then possessed in exhaustion. Cried along with Duncan

Although Frank Herbert died before completing his version of the overall story, I think Murbella should be given honorable mention. At the end, by her overall combined Bene Gesserit and Honored Matre force, she takes over leadership of both the Bene Gesserit and the Honored Matres, although some will not accept her. Using a somewhat weak Star Trek analogy, it's like a being with the most superior logic of a vulcan combined with superior human emotional intuition. She becomes a reverend mother and has all the training of both the Bene Gesserit and the Honored Matres. She also receives all of Odrade's memories before Odrade dies.

Dude, I would pay large amounts of money for a audio book of all the Dune novels narrated by you. Seriously, you need to contact the Herbert Family and see if they'll license it.

Leto II. The fact that he intentionally made humanity despise him as a tyrant for the greater good of their preservation speaks volumes on his ability to wield power-and expecting nothing in return. A true hero and self-sacrificing saint in every sense of the word. Doing good but doing it not for your own ego but being selfless about it is one of the highest forms of honor.

In terms of a battle royale, don't forget about Fenring. He was considered a real threat to Paul in duelling.
  • You keep on delivering, nice! Can’t wait on your thoughts on Chapterhouse, I loved it!

My favorite character in the Dune books has always been Alia. Her story has always been so tragic! Born immensely powerful but surrounded by strife and violence since birth. To be the one to kill Duke Harkonnen, only to be killed by his influence in the future. I think her brief moments of happiness was during her marriage to Duncan Idaho… hope you could do a video discussing Alia and/or Ganima
  • I’ll listen to literally anything you record Quinn, keep them coming
  • @anaruizguti
I've just subscribed after listening to your Dune vid yesterday , my daughter said she could listen to you all day !!

As soon as I saw that you were only including the original 6, I thought of the God Emperor's enigmatic little statement: "Who has heard of Norma Cenva?"

I am so excited to wake up and see one of your videos on my feed! Best channel on YouTube
  • @BiffScooterIII
Quinn, I really dig your videos and persona. What I'd give to have friends to discuss such awesome universes and stories. Totally should do a video of certain philosophies in the Dune universe. Adds hue and shading to an otherwise near perfect picture/story

Quinn I appreciate you for being exactly who you are. I remember watching your channel early in the game of thrones TV series. Your videos made me want to read through the books to find the good stuff that the “Show Watchers” are missing. I also watched your Dune videos and You introduced me to Dune. I grow up and now I get to see a Dune movie???!!! Wow 🤩

I love the new direction you’ve taken the channel in.
