I Am Not Wearing My Habit For THIS!

Published 2018-04-26
Generally, I wear my habit in public. It's a great sign of evangelization and I love it. But today, I'm leaving it at home. Long time viewers might be happy to see why... (Don't worry! It's not scandalous!)

I’m always wondering how can I tell my Chinese atheist parents that I wanna be a Catholic friar or monk...
  • @felixweinlinger
The way he talks about not wearing the habit is like listening to a superhero talking about the days when they are in their secret identity
  • I used to work in retail...and whenever a religious came into the store...whether at starbucks the mall... Target... Walmart...you name it...it was encouraging and made me feel proud to be Catholic...sometimes just the presence of the habit in the agora was so inspiring...it always encourages dialogue even with non-believers. I used to bring a retired byzantine old calendarist bishop out shopping every week...and he was a magnet in walmart...he heard confessions in the walgreens parking lot..... Getting out there where the people are saves souls...keep bringing the church/sacraments to them..where they are...sacramenta propter homines!

“I don’t go swimming in it.” Not sure why, but I can’t stop laughing at that line 😂😂😂
  • “Dunder Mifflin. Limitless Paper in a Paperless World” anyone else catch it?
  • @Hi_Brien
I was freaking out seeing people not wearing masks, then I checked the video's age
  • I'm not Catholic, I'm not even Christian (and probably never will be again), but I just LOVE watching your videos. You're so kind and genuine, and your videos are a breath of fresh air.

I love the way Angel applies servanthood to caring for people's hair and appearance ❤️ He seems so kind and conscientious.

Dude you're awesome! Fresh take on what being religious is and means; You are anyone of us with a ministry focused on God. Kudos!

Learned something new,did not realize friars went casual for things.
  • I am a licensed Cosmetologist and I can truly relate with Brother Angel. Although I am currently discerning, and I am very anxious about it. But after seeing this video I know that until that time comes I will trust the Lord and continue to work in the salon. Thank you so much for making these videos :) Good job and God bless you all!
  • Angel makes some good points. Reminds me of the Army and how a cook can have a huge effect on troop health and moral. There are many vocations and careers that may seem small but have a tremendous impact in people’s lives.

I think this video is a good reminder that God can use every talent we have to spread the Good News. Also, good luck to you as you get closer to your ordination! I'll be praying for you Br. Casey. :))

Confession in a barber chair. Very cool way to connect with Catholics. That was an incredible experience!

His honesty and genuine caring nature is so refreshing.

Absolutely loved brother Angel's interpretation of that bible teaching. I really do hate it when the higher ups in the church take it super literally and they do it but it serves no real purpose other than showing how "humble" they are. At least by giving poor people haircuts and washing their hair, the focus is really on them as it should be.
  • Father you make thousands of people happy. You are an AD FOR THE FRANCISCAN FRIARS. RADIATING JOY

My family and I befriended some capuchino monks and now every time I see ANY stranger wearing their habits I really want to hug them.
