Sounds like Robinhood better keep more cash on hand than they ever did before, or they will be stopping trades right and left every week. If volume increases, their poor cash flow is going to become a problem. From what I understand that was one of the factors that caused all the trouble with Gamestop. Too much activity, and not enough cash on hand to cover the transactions. I'm no expert, I could be wrong.

There is some value in having a delay in settlement for fraud prevention. If your account got hacked, you’d want the security of being able to freeze or recover any funds prior to settlement. Crypto suffers from this because transactions are instantaneous and irreversible.
