For the final location of the 2023 Origins series, I visited Nashville to learn all about hot chicken. I spoke with the niece of the founder of hot chicken - Ms André Prince who shared her family's history with the dish. And I was invited into the kitchens of Party Fowl and 400 Degrees so I could see how they cook hot chicken. I hope you enjoy their stories as much as I did and remember to tune in next week for the recipe back in my studio kitchen.

It’s really a shame to me that not that many people watch these compared to your shorts. They’re so much better imo. The interactions you have with others, the detailed processes, the professional tv-level production value, they’re fantastic. I hope you keep making more of these because I really enjoy them

Absolutely love the owner of 400 degrees! What a lovely woman, and she really does look 21 💁🏻‍♂️ Ms. Andre was amazing too. I hope I get to visit all of these places sometime. And Andy - I absolutely LOVE this series. Amazing job!

Andy, as a born and raised Nashvillian I want to thank you so much for this video, and for being respectful of the hot chicken tradition, of the iconic Ms. Andre, and of Nashville in general... most videos about the city, regardless of what the topic is supposed to be, eventually devolve into this cliche' stereotypical clown show where everyone is wearing cowboy hats and ironically saying "ya'll" or whatever. So I just want to thank you for keeping it real, not to mention the very high quality content! Cheers brother!

"Oops, I made a couple small technical mistakes making a recipe; time to book a week-long trip across several locations to talk to multiple owners of businesses specializing in the dish to make up for it." - absolutely no one but Andy 😂
  • @lukek624
The difference you see when the owners recognise a real chef rather than a presenter lets them open up more about the techniques fantastic Andy

With how liberal he is with the Ma'am you can tell hes a good dude 👌👌 Respect the product and procedure. As a Nashville native you Sir have earned my blessings! Hope you had a great time and yall welcome back whenever yall want ❤️

I had Nashville hot chicken at Prince’s for the first time back on my honeymoon in 2020. I picked the medium level spice and I was full on losing my shit in the restaurant. Nose running, eyes watering. It was delicious, but anyone who eats their spiciest sauce is a true spice lord

Respect to Andy for going places, learning from the "natives" and trying to cook it later.

I know so many chefs who don't want to share their knowledge and listen to others and be inspired by them.... thank You Andy. You are so nice and humble. Keep up❤
