The Man, the Myth, the Legend - He is hailed as the “perfectionist” of Hindi Film Industry. But in his own words, "Mai Magic dhundhta hu, Magic". This young, shy kid, who started out as a backstage artist and then an extra pursuing theater during his college days, continues creating films that leave legacies behind.

A Tennis Champion and once ranking Maharashtra No.1, how he stumbled upon acting and filmmaking is no less than a love story. Aamir Khan being his utmost vulnerable and unfiltered in this interview, sheds lights on his rollercoaster of a childhood, the memories of his late father and the undying love for good stories.

Money and fame seem to act as no catalyst for him in this cut-throat of a business as he shared with us his 3 principles behind the selection of all his scripts for the last 3 decades.

From being shouted at "Get Out!" to single handedly being a flagbearer of quality cinematic expression in India and worldwide, he compromises at no cost at all for his dream and love for the world of movies.

Let’s know the perfect journey of a man who simply listened to his heart and was never afraid to say a ‘NO’ even at his lowest. His journey is surely ‘Qayamat se Qayamat Tak’ who taught us to embrace ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ while effortlessly keeping it ‘Rangeela’. Let’s know the human, inside who lives a thousand characters.

“How The Hell Did I Do It?” is a Humans of Bombay Original – a talk show where we speak with the dreamers, the pioneers, the go-getters and the never-say-no’ers from all walks of life. We discuss their journeys – the highs, the lows and everything in between. And through our candid conversations, we try to decode the human behind the name, and get pretty close to figuring out – How The Hell Did They Do It?

About Humans of Bombay –

Humans of Bombay is a movement that started 8 years ago. We believe that every person has a story to tell and we want to help them tell these stories. In these years we’ve published stories across genres – stories of love, hope, faith and courage. And through our storytelling, we’ve built an engaged community of over 4.5M!
Our idea is simple – to strike a chord with our community and catalog the beat of humanity, one story at a time.

  • The actor like Aamir khan is not going to come in the world again...... People will get to know about him properly when he will not be among us ... May God give him good health and a long life. Lots of love and respect for you Mr. perfectionist.
  • His ease and acceptance of his own tears can lift off the pressure of "men don't cry" from men
  • Very glad that the host didn’t interrupt Aamir and let him share what he wanted to! More to such open hearts and peeks into artists lives!
  • No matter what he said, movies are working or not but I love the fact that he respects every aspect of his life, success or failure
  • Such a different interview. I got to know so many things which Aamir never spoke in other interviews. This interview was all his heart out and 100% vulnerability!
  • I liked how free-flowing this interview was.. Full marks to Karishma for not interrupting Amir and letting him speak his heart out, expressing all sorts of emotions. Watched a full interview of any Star after a very long time..A man who is honest to self can win the World..
  • Whenever i talk to foreigners, they know about Bollywood bcoz of amir Khan's iconic movies. May be other actors are more famous. Lekin kuch movies chaap chodh jaati hai when you truly love your work.

No matter how much we bash him for his last movie...We can't deny the fact his supremacy as actor and the legacy he has created ... Iconic movies like Sarfarosh, Lagaan,Rang de Basanti,3Idiots,Taare Zameen par,Dangal...that he gifted us over the years. ..The way he talks about movies that shows his immense and pure love and passion for Cinema...he does movies for the sake of love for the movies...and if we don't get success out of something that we love so intensely it's very difficult to make peace with it...and The failure of LSC made him take a backseat and he got so effected and decided to take a long break...I don't care about his political views but I adore him for such a fine and versatile actor that he's and his profound love for movies... There's no role that he can't play...

Aamir is never afraid to be vulnerable and tell his truths. This is the most emotionally realest and nake yet extremely aspirational man. Thats why he has been such popular. H
  • I have never seen this side of Aamir khan in any interview. Kudos to the anchor for letting us see this side of him... We always thought that Aamir khan was a very calm, cool and composed individual but to hear of his family struggles in his childhood kinda made me emotional as well. I guess he succeeded because he followed his heart and never gave up..

I have been a fan of Aamir Khan since QSQT released. I can categorically say that his are the only mainstream 'Bollywood' movies that I watch. This interview was a great revelation to get to know him as a person. His movie choices, acting and persona has one common denominator-total honesty.
  • The legend, The Aamir Khan. Pure love and respect for him. I believe he will comeback stronger and stronger.
  • I feel this person is actually genuine in whatever he says and does, and ofcourse he is the best critic of himself, he learns things quick, observes faults in his actions and tries not to repeat the same mistakes again, instead of just hiding the flaws, he works on them. That fact is really impressive.

I think this is the first time I am seeing a proper interview of Amir Khan with his journey, thank you so much to channel for doing this!! I am his fan for last 30 yrs, still I wish to meet him at least once in my life, which is just impossible for me that I know as I am a very common person. Still, this is really a happy feeling to seeing him talking for so long about his own life. And, of course I appreciate the anchor also. She is really nice with her role.
  • @rishijain6710
This kind of an interview I have seen in a long time. Straight from the heart.
  • @SuperNarula
I appreciated that Karishma let Aamir speak and go on and did not interrupt him with questions that she had prepared ahead of time. Made it a very interesting and illuminating interview.
  • @Farhanbupuz10
i was crying with aamir khan and i am still crying badly while writing this comment. because, my father went through the similar kind of situations while i and my siblings were very young. people use to come to him and ask their money back and he couldn't return it. although he was very honest man. i still cant forget the hard time of my life till my last breath, now i have everything but not my DAD
