I understand the concern, but consider the one simple fact that all of the promotional material of TOTK exists in which they heavily featured the sky islands, and completely didn’t at all feature The Depths. Nintendo doesn’t want to just show us their entire hand, they want us to experience it for ourselves
  • I'm not too worried. I've learned that when Nintendo pushes a weird idea, its because its a GOOD idea
  • I can't freaking wait for this game. I agree - I think she'll use more than just a magic wand

I don't think the tri-rod will be zelda's only weapon since on the D-Pad, there are 3 more open slots along with the tri-rod. I'm excited to see what they are or how we'll get them
  • @OurHeroXero
The HUD shows the Tri Rod mapped to the right D-pad button, so it seems reasonable other items could be mapped to the remaining buttons as well.
  • @cristiany140
If you see the trailer in the left side you can see an interface where the staff is mapped to the right button of the d-pad. The other 3 are free. Why would they put that if Zelda is not using other weapons or items aside the staff?
  • I find it a bit weird since it’s not link for once… but tbh it is kinda exciting to be seeing Zelda as the main character for once!
  • @Uniclowndaddy
Seems to me like battle is gonna be similar to RPG games in a way and less action-adventure
  • I agree that it could make combat a slog to get through but I'm sure it'll be okay, idk I'm still excited to finally play as Zelda
  • @noweec
Im more concerned they'll just make the same dungeons as in totk in botw. When you just have to reach 5 yellow dots. I miss old dungeons
  • @skullkid7989
It would get really annoying if Zelda doesn’t get any weapon to use
  • Summoning monsters to fight for you can be a little boring if you just stand and watch the fight like an automated Pokémon battle. But then players will learn how to move and think while their echo fights for them. There's also the excitement of combining echos and items in unique ways. What if you can put the metal octorock on the sliding blade trap thing!?

In this case, one more reason to try the game! I'm just hoping they will be good puzzle in it!!!!

I'm worried that EoW could Breath of the Wildify 2D Zelda, effectively eliminating classic Zelda entirely and rendering the franchise effectively Dark Scrolls or Elder Souls permanently.
  • It's not the first time in 38 years - Zelda was a playable character in two of the CDI games and Hyrule Warriors :p
  • I'm Pretty Sure Nintendo was Just Showing Off Some of the New Main Features of this New Zelda Game and Didn't Bother Showing All the Familiar Zelda Tropes that We All Already Know About but will Still Play a Role in the Gameplay. So They Just Wanted to Get the New Stuff Out There to Get Us Interested in Whats New About the New Game, But That Doesn't Mean that Classic Stuff won't Be There.
  • As long as the game has good puzzles like the older ones, I won't mind as much. Besides I feel like they'll definitely lean into the puzzle based situation considering it's Zelda and her triforce of Wisdom (if the triforce is even a thing at this point considering the last two games). Hopefully the story is decent too. Other than that I try to expect nothing so I'm never disappointed.........kind of like how the pokemon games have trained me to think so as of late. Area Zero was awesome.

0:44 it’s not the first time, you could play as Zelda in CDI
  • I'll just spam Deku-Babas and ReDeads and fucking enjoy it - and obliterate Zelda's enemies with this mechanical Octorok-thingy. Honestly, I never minded the waiting against Stalfos in OoT, because the rest of the game was so good - and I have absolute faith that EoW will be the same. Also, I think that the bosses are (hopefully) just too strong to be defeated by summoning 1 or 2 monsters. So we at least will have to dodge their attacks, which in itself is sort of an active action. Also also, getting the Bow of Light would be absolutely amazing!
  • Yeah I'm also slightly worried, but I still have some faith in the game. I'm also expecting combat to be a weaker point of the game, along with exploration.
