I think the reason you are having "breakouts" is because you are under a lot of stress. You are making major changes in your life and all of this is exciting, which probably fuels your anxiety too. Once you take care of some of these new changes in your life,things will begin to calm down.

As a New York girlie finding an apartment and a 1 bedroom at that with actual space is near impossible. And the pricing out here is outrageous. You'll get more space with a 2 bedroom for sure but the 1 bedrooms are literal closets. That's why I moved to jersey city. I know its hard but I hope you find something that suits you. And welcome to New York ! Im so happy that you are living your life and following your heart wherever it leads you. So inspiring <33

Hey , as a New Yorker, make sure you limit what you show when it comes to where you live because it’s easy to identify. And always be alert walking bc people be acting dumb. Yeah apartments in new York aren’t big. You have to really look bc their are decent apartments that are spacious , just need to really look in a good area. ❤❤❤

I would suggest downtown Brooklyn…near the Barclays. It’s far from touristy. There is Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Chic Fil A, Target and Sephora within walking distance. Other areas to look into in Brooklyn are Williamsburg (by the water), Fort Greene and Clinton Hills. Also, LES (lower east side), SoHo and Jersey City are good options.

Moving to NYC will be a huge culture shock. Your heart will stay broke if you compare to anything in the south. Try Brooklyn or over the bridge to Jersey. It will be just as expensive but you might get a little more space.

Born and raised New Yorker here who lived in just about every borough… people don’t move to NYC (Manhattan) for spacious apartments love lol, they move for the area/night life. Manhattan is not it for space, especially coming from the south where it’s at an abundance. Good luck with your apartment hunt!

I’m so excited you’re moving to NYC! I know you want the manhattan experience, but as a Jersey girl, I highly recommend looking at Jersey City apartments. I just saw a 1 bedroom for less than 4k with an unobstructed view of the water and Statue of Liberty

ive had acne for half my life and hearing you speak about it makes me feel so emotional because even with me finally getting calmer skin, the hyperpigmentation still gets to me sometimes. I feel that people who have never experience skin issues will never understand the effects (long term and short term) having acne can have emotionally. And the misconception that acne is is because you're dirty or eat poorly is so misguided.
